Wow, nice pics...you even included the mandatory foot shot.

I've never seen nor played anything like this but how do you play the frets from say 30-36? It looks pretty small.

I just wonder when somebody is going to make like a 40 to 45 fret guitar. The frets would extend all the way to the bridge and they'd use piezo pickups. Looks cool, though!

You could also go whole notes towards the higher frets.

I have enough trouble squeezing my fingers together in the upper 24 range... I can't imagine 36... or trying round the ends of those last frets. Major props for going for it though! Looks like it will really be something really cool.

...and that partially whole note fretted neck is just blowing my mind

Thanks mate. I will, next stage is gluing the fretboard down and routing the excess. I was thinking i might even do a 7 string pickup on and angle to the 6 strings like mayones did with this http://www.mayones.com/en/custom_sho...omb_xtrem36_en I am not quite sure of it benefits but damn it looks good.

I am also going with a top loader schaller 3d6 bridge and i was thinking for the sides/wings i would use some all Australian tone woods,

You are building an Anime guitar! hehe

my fret question was tongue in cheek, have you figured out how to compensate for the height difference in fret wire?

I think the idea is cool, at the least you can slide some seriously high notes. being a fan of hammering, I often hit a high note and bend with my right hand. having that many frets would add plenty of solo options.

Notes as hiGH as a violin . Hmm i am not sure about the fret height compensation. i will just have to take it one step at a time and learn from my mistakes. Guess i could go all medium to make it easier for me.

Whats your thoughts on that mayones guitar pickup arrangement 7 string on a 6 string?

I saw that Anime guitar on the other thread. really awesome!

My comment was more that you are throwing convention to the wind and creating. Kinda like anime. I like it but since I don't do drugs I couldn't really understand it. hehe

I like the idea of the 7 string pup. in theory you have an extra pole with an extra long magnet so the field should be responsive. the extra angle will look cool.

IMHO, I would go with med jumbo frets all the way. not only will they be the same height, when you get to the thirty somethings, the action will be more like a violin, only using the fret to assist in notation.

Wow, big hats off to you and your skills. Them frets look so close togehter I have trouble to make them out by eye above the 24th. Will there be wood visible between the 32nd and 36th when the fretwire is on?.
    Practice cures most tone issues.
