    Default Def Leppard

This link just popped up on Facebook, pretty cool vid of Def Leppord Guitar Tech for Phil Collen. Goes though the rig and then though the guitars. Worth a look, and I didn't want the non FB ers to miss it

Yep, now that was pretty damn cool!

JMP-1's & Midiverb's...looks like my own early 90's rack setup! I will admit to being jealous as fk that Phil doesn't do any sound changes during the gig...my blind-ass is stepping on shit almost every song!

It was going all great until he got to "Goldmember"... Can you say "fugly"? Even his Austin Power jokes couldn't save that monstrosity!

What a gig huh? You get to play with pimpin' guitars and gear all day and get paid!

And lets not forget, you get to play with stuff you don't pay for either

I like the Dread, but would like it more if it was an orginal and not from the movie.

Cool vid...killer setup, and yes, was in my Top Five dream jobs back in the day. Him not making his own patch changes just seems really odd to me though.
Doesnt that kill the possibility of spontaneity, or are all of the shows mapped out with no wiggle room?

That was cool! I have always been very impressed seeing Def Lep live. So many sounds and stuff changing in the guitar sound/effects and non of it is done by Phil. Every sound from all the albums is spot on... Wouldn't I love to gig with a setup and tech like that!!

He did. I don't remember them looking like a Hot Rail.
Or maybe Floyd Rose made it special for him... Wish I was that special

    For $3G, you could.

Looks like a mini sustainer pup.

Yeah... but Jackson list them as a "Jackson Sustainer"... but it would be great if Floyd does make them... maybe we could get some parts or something.... I've always wanted and still do one of the Aqua or Purple Haze PC1s...

Well after listening to Joe Elliott's interview on Jim Rome's radio show I decided to do it. Checked Live Nation and they must have just released more tickets, so I got 2nd row at face value...

Should be pretty good, that should be close enough to smell Lita Ford's pussy right?

Phil was easily the worst guitarist to be featured on "That Metal Show."

I am not a Def Leppard fan in the slightest. I bought Hysteria because it was supposed to be a great rock album. More like average pop album haha

    The PC1s look cool though

Hey Neb. You were ripped off and lied to about Hysteria...by this time the band were a bunch of sissies singing love songs and radio friendly riffs. If you want to hear the "real" Def Leppard before they sold out, listen to "High N Dry" and "Pyromania"...both kick ass albums. Remember, in the early days, Def Lep was a hard rock band and even opened for AC/DC back in 1979. In the late '80's they were still selling out arenas, but should have been opening for Michael Bolton or Elton John.

Went last night, was a great show. I really wasn't super into the band prior to the concert but they pleasantly surprised me with their live show. Collen was pretty much on point. He actually played a Fender strat at one point, kind of surprised me. Didn't get to see a ton of Vivian but looked like he was mostly playing a variety of colored sparkly topped Les Paul/LP Customs. I got a few good shots from the iPhone i'll try to throw up today.
