    It is a wood grain sealer that I use. It is not cleared yet. I will sand that with 500 grit then clear it.

    Beautiful work man. Did you sand the entire neck or use another method?

    It is going to look fantastic.

    Is there a particular brand of sealer that you tend to use?

    Yea, I sanded the entire guitar. (I didn't use heat) I can not remember the name of the grain sealer but it does OK and it is easy to sand. I will post the name of it for you.

    @G. Yes Gold hardware.

    Again, thanks guys!

    I have another wine red that I am planning to do...I think I'll do the neck this time too - my last one I didn't do the neck but I was meticulous enough to make it look good:

    That'd be great if you would post the sealer name-I have never used one and it looks like the one that you used works really well in that application.

    Yours is going to be amazing judging by the pics. It looks like you have a lot of decent equipment at your disposal as well which doesn't hurt. I think the black looks best done in this way because of the contrast.

    Thanks for the PM brother.

    If I had seen these 'barebacks' prior to selling 3 ebony Les Pauls I would likely still have them all!!
