Default Cigars. As in hechoed in Cuba

Just sitting on the porch. Me and my neighbor. Anyhow, he brought 2 cigars. He swears they were made in Cuba. His boss was there and brought these back. There is no question they were hand rolled. I am not a fair weather yuppie cigar smoker. In fact, I never liked cigars. Until now. You talk about a great smoke. I smoked it down to the nub and enjoyed every minute. Life in the mobilehome park is a wonderment.

    Hey Fett,

I went through a cigar phase with a couple of buddies about 10 years or so ago. We'd smoke once or twice a month, not a lot, just a way to let off some steam every now and then. (Until, that is, my life insurance people said that the stuff in cigars can be traced in your blood up until a year after your last smoke and that my life insurance rates would be higher because of it. Yikes!). Anyway, we were at nice cigar bar in Denver (Trios Enoteca, for anyone who frequents LoDo, though I haven't been in that neck of the woods in years and don't know if it's still there). The guitar steward was selling Cubans literally out of his jacket pocket like some kind of corner pusher. We bit. $30 for the nicest cigar I ever smoked. Made me a believer, too.

Good on ya' ... and I hope it doesn't hoist your life insurance rates. : )

Hell, I don't even have health insurance. The guy had 2 of them. We lit up. I enjoyed mine to the end. He couldn't get past 2 or 3 puffs and gave up. Ergo, I have one left.

Long story, but Cubanos are NOT the best cigars you can buy.
The best makers left Castro's unwelcoming climate long ago and now craft their fine skills in Dominica, Nicaragua, Mexico, and elsewhere.
    Wrappers from Cameroon, Connecticut, Honduras.
For the uninitiated, I recommend Romeo Julietta Anniversario, Monte Christo White, and Artero Fuente Gran Reserva.
    All very fine mild smokes.
And hand rolled by the best in the world.

I regularly smoke Garcia Vega mini's.
All natural cuttings from the best floors in the world!
