    Smile BB project achieved!

First, big thanks to muttznmongrelz for sharing the add
    www.kramerforum.com/forum/showthread.php?54561-Buddy-Blaze-Project-299-99
Thanks to korodesu too for the advice regarding the pickups choice.
So, this is initialy a custom Kahuna handmade in Hawaii by Buddy Blaze. It is made from sapele wood for the body, and flame maple for the neck. It is a 24-5/8" scale and has an ebony fretboard.
I tossed in an old floyd Rose trem (a nice found in my local CL). The pickups are a quater pound stagered in the neck and a full shred in the bridge.
The tuners are those lefty grovers that fits correctly on her.
That is my first guitar with a D-tuna. Do not know how to play with this device but find it amazing. From now I think I should practice more instead of always building guitars and let them sleeping in their HSC.
I have to say: its a good guitar that plays beautifully and sounds great!

I love those woodiy guitars and flame maple necks . Would you say 100% satisfaction?

Uh!, Well... I acquire a guitar (or project) each three months. I am wondering if one day I could be 100% satisfied

Seriously it is a fine instrument but it requires some practice (that I do not have) to play due to the lack of inlay on it.
No matter because I know it is not the guitar that makes you a better player: that's work and talent (that I actually do not do, in one hand, and that I do not have, in the other hand).
Anyway it is well balanced but a little bit heavy (less than a LesPaul). It has a "high end" feel. But I do not love it more than the others of my herd (even the crappy one, which is a totally fake footmade kramer).

Thanks Jim, you're right, it's a 24 3/4 scale and yes it has side dot markers...

first off, great job on a great looking guitar. project guitars can be some of the more satisfying things to do.

he's got the most incredible selections of woods. and the maple he finds for his necks are some of the best looking pieces of maples I've seen. that marker-less neck is great. I've talked to them about some options for a Shredder, and it includes a board without markers... maybe something at the 12th.

how would you describe that sapele wood? how are those pickups working out for you in that guitar? was the FS a nod to BB or just something you had sitting around? have you tried the BB BlazeBucker pickups?

I think this has come up before... and I'm not gonna tell a guy how to run his business, but that logo on the head always messes with my eyeballs. lol!

Dense and heavy, plus resonnant: to me not so far from mahogany (but I am not an expert).

I found them fine for this guitar. Sounds different as the other I usually use (DP155/DP163/L500XL/SCHALLERS/etc...). The SSL-7 is very powerfull: when you switch from the hum to the single you can feel a slight increase of volume level (may be I should lower it a little bit).

don't blame me man. But I'm French and not so familiar with some abbreviations. Could you explain, please (what means FS)?

No, I've never tried them. But I've read somewhere here they are pretty good. I imagine if the guy apply same quality for its PU than for its guitars they are probably very good.

    Thanks SixString
Ok to DarthPhineas, I'd go to the FS just following Korodesu advices and I can say I am really happy with it because it sounds really different like the other pickups that I have. For what I could see on the web it should be originally a duncan custom in the bridge. But I'm not disapointed with the FS that matches fine with her.

I was actually thinking about that old thread the other day, wondering how it went. I love my K2; it stays no matter what else comes and goes. It's already had a couple pickup swaps, but that's normal for me, LOL... Right now it's EMG'd with the 18 volt mod. Haven't tried a Full Shred in it yet, hmmm....
