Great work!!![]()
I bought this beautiful Kramer guitar nearly 25 years ago in Glasgow Scotland and believe it or not i've been playing guitar for the best part of 50 years now!!! Been around the Forum for almost 6 years and posted pics of the Liberty but never done a recording on her-so as I said I would after I did the Steve Vai cover early this year here is the Liberty in action!!
Its my humble version of Satch Boogie which was recorded in a single take - no editing/punching in/out- its raw - exactly the way I wanted it. I shot the video on a Nokia N8 phone and the guitar went straight into a Boss 8 Track through a Boss GT6 on a high gain setting.
Its pretty daunting covering a Satriani classic cos I could never play it as well as Joe and the bald head and dark glasses didn't make it any easier to play but I sure enjoyed making the vid and hope you think i've done the guitar justice!!!
Enjoy!!!

Very good, like the last one. You´ve done the guitar and Joe justice. Besides your playing and vibe there is that broad boyish smile on your face, that makes watching you play a real blast. You sure had some fun doing this and you transported all of it to me! Thankee say!

Thanks Bruce and again to everyone else who has watched or commented - the response has overwhelmed me!!
Your probably gonna be sorry you asked me about my own material cos it gives me a chance to open up and say a few things about this great Forum that maybe I should have said a long time ago!!
But first the left hand whammy technique - I started using it about six years ago- its not a visual gimmick - it really does open up huge possibilities - particularly for the big open string screams - I use it an awful lot.
My own material - well I have some- and will put something together in the not too distant future - but i've got to say that i am reclusive and work completely alone (not through choice but through circumstances) and my keyboard skills are not in the same league as my guitar playing. I did put an original intro on the Satch Boogie recording which i wrote but figured because it was such a famous piece people probably would'nt want to hear it that way.
Truth is I got real ill about six years ago and needed a stabilizing influence in my life and this site became one of them. I had all but stopped playing at that stage but the site got me going again and gave my playing a new sense of purpose so I really owe a debt of gratitude to the site for the help it gave me through the most difficult period of my life. That's why I made such an effort with the 2 recordings i made - what i'm really trying to say like Moku's piece earlier in the week THIS SITE is a special place.(Hope he reads this)
I still lead a reclusive lifestyle but the Forum gives me the opportunity to share my guitar work with like minded musicians which I would otherwise not be able to do - so long may it continue.
BTW Bruce have started work on the next piece - a cover i'm afraid - looking like For The Love Of God on the Liberty- but promise it wont disappoint!!!
