    Default NGD - Black Retta

Played a show last night and somehow this dropped in my lap, I haven't wiped it down or cleaned it but it's in amazing shape, looks like it's hardly been played. I'll take more/better pics when I get a chance...

" somehow this dropped in my lap"

I hate it when that happens!!!

I Love/Hate Black guitars, so beautiful when clean and unscathed, so F'n ugly when dirty and you get that first little annoying scratch.

    Congrats on your "Catch"

Thank you for all the comments

It's in great shape, I still haven't had time to plug it in through my rig, right now I just want to clean the parts with a WD-40 bath and have a look around. The only thing I really needed to "fix" was the rear strap button - a couple of toothpicks and that's done. Here's some new pics...

Baretta's are still the Queens of Kramer's.
    Nothing to say. Outstanding.

LOL I did kind of leave it open ended, sort of a long story. The bass player in my band is one of my closest friends, if he needs something I'm always willing to help and the same goes for him if I need anything. He needed a hand with something a few months ago and I didn't think twice to help. Cut to about a month ago, I was going to his house to hang out and he calls me and says "Wait until you get here, I've got something to show you...you're not going to believe it." So of course I'm blown away when I see the guitar, he tells me to play it and asks me what I think of the Retta. I told him it was great, put it in the case and I said I should bring my camera next time I'll take some pics for the Forum. A couple of weeks ago he calls me and says "You're always there when I need you, I'm giving you the Retta" LOL So I was very flattered but I sincerly felt what I had done wasn't enough to warrant a practically untouched Baretta. So I told him that I'd take it but he'd have to take something in return...He laughed at me and said I was nuts, I should have my head examined! I had a Strat body and Mighty Mite neck that he had given me about three years prior for Christmas, I put it together and threw on some Fender lock tuners, a Duncan Hot Rails and a new bridge in it so I asked if he'd take that in return. He was cool with it and joked that "I always loved that Strat body!" I showed up to the gig last Saturday and the Baretta in the case was on stage where I set my rig up. He's a great guy, I'm still kind of stunned about it.

So I gave the Floyd and it's parts a WD-40 bath, it didn't need much but it looks great now. Sprayed some contact cleaner in the electronics and waxed the body. It looks beautiful! The most important part - it sounds great plugged in. It's more full sounding than my white Retta, for lack of a better example the Black Retta has more Les Paul in it and the White is more strat. I'll try and get some sound clips up as well as some new photos. Thanks everyone!
