Sometimes I feel like FLA is where a large collection of Kramer's has gone to retire...
Plenty of bro's down there to get you sorted!![]()
Ehm, dunno if I´m right here, but since this is definitely about Kramer guitars in general I´ll give it a shot
. Come saturday I´ll jump aboard an Airbus with my lovely and my daughter - next stop Miami to enjoy your country for two weeks. Besides the tourist-thing (did a good part of it on my last two visits and hope to do some more this time) I´d like to know if there are any Kramer-related spots in the vicinity, such as an interesting pawn-shop, a guitar-store, ... anything to quench my thirst for one or two more of those Kramer-thingies right out of the 80s
. Maybe hooking up with a bro there, ... any advice is appreciated.
And, btw, if you have some advice regarding places to go in south Florida (Everglades and Keys are already on the program for the trip), I´d be more than happy to read about it.
One last thing, tho. My life as a productive Kramer buyer will be ever so much easier, if you´d share some tip where I could go with my lovely and my 12 year old on a shopping-spree.
So, guys please help a fellow bro satisfy his needs
Thanks in advance!
Christian

My advise would be to jump on the internet, go to the Craigslist pages for that area and search kramers. The only part of South Florida I've been to is Ft. Meyers and Sanabelle Island. The Island is great but with the recent storm who knows where will be under water. I glanced at the south FL listings and found an 80 Aerostar, and an old Alum. Neck. couple of strikers and a pink focus 6000. good hunting!

Hey Christian.....not really sure abouth South FL I am in the Tampa area...I know Ken is in the Clearwater area, Dan is in Noth Tampa/lutz area, Mike(Axe) is in the Sarasota area, Bruce(Fullcrib) is in the Orlando area. I know there has got to be somone down south. I am pretty good buds with Dan and Ken...met Bruce once and want to hang out with him some more! never met Mike yet...but we are all more towards the middle of the state, so if you make it up this way!!!!!!!

Well I cant give you any tourist advice for south FLA...but if you decide to venture up to the tourism mecca known as central FLA , you guys are more then welcome to hang by the pool and get a dose of southern hospitality (usually includes loud 80's music, a grill full of pork ribs, a bigass pot of jambalaya, enuff beer to float a boat, and if you're lucky, a pot of cajun boiled peanuts). It is also the same pool where many Kramers have been known to be spotted.
Sounds like a good excuse to call a chapter meeting to me....
BTW...one would be exiled from the FLA chapter if he was to give away any of our hunting secrets here.![]()

Oh, Bruce, no way that I wanna have that on my record.
Regarding that invitation on the other hand... have to talk this through with da wife. Usually I can get her in a mellow mood when offering a shopping-opportunity (and that other thing married men are obliged to do once in a while
). I remember a nice little mall (that´s to big a word, was more like a shopping square) in Orlando from our last trip in 2008 that she liked pretty much.
I´d love to see that Krazy-Kramer-Kastle of yours and hang with you. From the looks of it it´s just like paradise (even without the axes
).
Let´s see how this plays out.
TJ, that´d be to much of luck when you were around the Miami area at the same time (but great anyways)![]()

I'm not exactly sure what's in Miami that your coming for but there are tons more tourist things in central FL that would keep the wife and daughter happy. Plenty of things to do without breaking your bank acct. too. I'm sure Full Crib can show you the ins and outs. And there is enough shopping to be found between Downtown Disney, Flea Markets, and tons of specialty shops EVERYWHERE! If it were me, I would take a look around Miami for a day or two then rent a car and travel up A1A to Cocoa Beach and the "Space Coast." then west on Hwy 192 to the area around Disney World's Main Gate. If you don't want to hit Disney there are still tons of shops and Flea markets in the area plus some inexpensive places to stay. like $150 a week decent places. Once your there the options are endless plus you really get a nice sample of FL. You could even take a day to visit the West Coast and the Tampa Area.
Thanks Crib, I love that area. Hated that I couldn't make it down there with the family this year. We stayed there on Arlo Bronson Hwy at the hotel attached to Angles Buffet. $150 a week! Took the kids, (boy 9, girl 14) on their first trip to disney. Wish I had been on the forum back then. We don't really have any big Kramermiesters around me. Hell, even our local GC couldn't tell between a pacer and a striker.
Anyway, tons of great stuff in your area Crib and I know you know all the tricks.
... and jet lagged out of my mind but boy, that was great again.
What a fantastic vacation! 2 weeks with da lady of da house and our 12 year old daughter in the Lauderdale/Miami area. Due to the heat wave that is over the eastern part of the US of A all our plans went belly up. It was simply to hot to do all the nice tourist thingies like southernmost point of the eastern USA, Glades, ... so we did for the first time nothing but chill around the pool, hop into a lukewarm atlantic and enjoyed our lives with good food (not always of the healthiest kind) and nice people (always). The hospitality was awesome there, as always! So, sorry Bruce for not coming back at you this time. I hope we can do it next summer. We already made up our minds to spent next years summer vac there too but we want to start the journey then in Washington and have a round trip there first (regardless of the weather).
Only thing that was amiss, was a score guitar wise. Haven´t played an axe for two weeks (which actually is possible). Been in the GC in Miami, some pawn shops there and in Lauderdale as well as in a store called DixieGuitarTraders where I missed a minty Bent Tubes Imperial with OFR by a week (at least that was what the guys there told me, they where a nice bunch).
To make a long story short: We had a blast in the US of A like each time and I couldn´t spend money on guitars (besides a dozen packs of strings). Sad that is was over so fast.
Greets,
Christian
