    Default New Guy here--

hi y'all--I just pulled the trigger on a new Kramer SM-1 from Zzsounds, can hardly wait 'til next week, woohooo!!

FYI: I used to own many shred machines:

*Jackson USA Soloist, MIJ Soloist arch-top, MIJ DK2M [one black and one white], MIJ Dinky wih pickguard
    *Charvel Model 6, MIJ Strat
    *Kramer USA Pacer Custom 1
    *Hamer Centuara
    *LTD H300, EC1000, MH400, MH250

I'm very confident the SM-1 will compare favorably with all of those guitars--I'm excited about the many tonal variations it offers, plus the neck is a thinner profile [I hope, LOL!!]--I have a feeling it's gonna rip thru my duo of Blackstars [HT40, HT20], so I'm giddy!!

    welcome to the forum.

i think the neck is lil beefier than the vintage stagemaster. still, should be a great guitar.

Indeed reviews say closer to a LP in dimensions.

thx, gang--if the neck profile compares to my LP Classic Custom's '60s neck profile, then SWEET!!! if it compares tothe Jackson Soloist, even better, LOL

REgardless, I need a guitar with more tonal versatility, plus I love the fact you can pull the volume pot to go to the bridge

I am sorry sir....we do not allow new members to enter with high end Kramer purchases in their first post. You must go to the "Kramer Overseas" section first and tell/ask us about your 1978 made in USA Striker first. After we all give you an approximation of value and rarity, we will then allow you to tell us about this SM-1 thing you speak of

Welcome bro....we are always looking for the latest opinions on these new Kramers

Welcome to the forum. Check out some of the older posts and get ready to drool. We all get jealous when someone scores an amazing axe, but we are overjoyed when we get to show our finds. Good luck with your new purchase.

My SM-1's neck is just about identical to that of my '99 LP Classic, which of course has the 60s Slim Taper neck. It's WAY beefier than that of any of my Jacksons.
