    Default My Unk

Paul Unkert has been my luthier for 20+ years.
A little over a year ago, I bought a NAMM Unk from Paul.
It has a nitro white blonde finish over a swamp ash body; birdseye maple neck; Duncan p/u's and a Floyd trem.

When I last saw Paul, he told me that he built 6 "pine" body Unk Std's for the Rolling Stones.
The pine was from Chuck Leavell's farm.
He was bitching about shipping costs.
    Paul's a bro.

Nice curly neck on that baby. How does it play/sound?

It's a very smoothe woody sounding guitar.
Paul told me that Billy Gibbons played it and was going to take it but the Reverend took an Unk Korina V.
Billy's DNA is on my guitar.

I'm bugging Paul to make me another Unk but with a serial #'d neck.
Supposedly, only the first 200 necks have a burned in serial #.

    Thanks for the kind words.

Paul Unkert had a beautiful quilted mahogany body Unk Jr hanging in his shop that I was interested in.
According to Paul, it's long gone.
He still has a few necks and bodies..............I'm bugging Paul to show me some of his Korina; Ash and cool mahogany grained bodies.
I hope to have another Unk before the years up.

My next gig is a solo job playing a cocktail hour for the Howell Chamber of Commerce.
