Yeah, the whole Dave cant sing thing isnt really a solid argument.. He never could sing!
I just as disappointed as the next fan about MA not being there but I fully understand the chance to play live with your son!
I ponied up and bought seats for the June show here.
I passed on seeing them back in the hey day and this IS the best Van Halen I'm ever going to see.. So I'm Going!

Obviously, Satch is my guy. Nothing makes me happier than having Sammy and Mike playing with Joe. And to be honest, who the fuck am I to tell Alex and Eddie Van Halen that they can't have Wolfgang Van Halen play in the band.

I'm sorry I couldn't get to see them in Philly
    Thanks

It cost me around $250 to see VH. $150 for two floor seats. $26 for lunch for me and my boy; $25 for parking; I spent $25 on clothes to look cool and it was the best $250 I have spent in quite awhile. I also made my bones.

I'm glad you are having a grand time breaking my bones. I have to believe it's all in fun. All I know is I had a great time with my son. Pissing on my parade is just what you do. I'm OK with that.

I love VH but if ya missed `em in the old days...these days...there's just no energy to the shows...the music is great just a bunch of dancing from Dave. But hey they sound great.

New show announced last week in Moline IL which is as close to me as they will get.
Tickets $99 / $79 & $49 which seems reasonable considering what face value at other shows has been.
Downside the opening act is Ky-Mani Marley (WTF).
I loved the DL/VH, I loved the VanHagar version too, each for their own reasons.
If this is possibly the last tour for Ed maybe I should reconsider and go.
Those prices for a good VH show wouldn't bother me in the least.
Lastly Dave could sing, range wise he's always been very limited though.
I know that the lead vocalist spot is about the hardest to maintain in a a band and many of our favorite singers can't cut it anymore.

I'll say it again, at those ticket prices you need to see VH. For all the ones who saw them wayback when, I salute you. God knows, we talk about Eddie all the time. I have read all the stories and have read alot of posts from members about Ed this that or the other thing. For the most part, that's just Web talk from people that have never seen VH live. I can be smug. I saw them live. It is a MUST SEE while you can.

    Ok,
    Who chooses the opening band?

Kool and the gang open for most of the tour....
    Really?? Kool and the gang!!!
how do you put two bands on that have absolutely nothing in common??

thats all DLR. he always has been a disco fan. BTW, kool and the gang are usually a staple in party cover bands. believe it or not, they get the energy going. then VH hits the stage and everyone is nice and amped

I liked Kool and the Gang. You wouldn't want a first act band outshining the stars. I've seen that before.
