    Default scalaguitarsusa.com

Dersu Uzala posted a link to Leo Scala's site in another thread, but I thought it deserved it's own thread and discussion.

BTW, thanks for posting that link, Dersu, and for providing so much "insider" info over the last several months.

Some of my thoughts from perusing his site:

    1. Leo's talent and artistry go way beyond what I had already credited him for. The talent on display at his site goes way beyond what he's done for GKG.

    2. From the Gary Kramer section:

I am still passionately involved with design and future development of Gary Kramer Guitars. In 2010 Mr. Kramer decided moving to peaceful vineyard country of Northern California will be the next great chapter in his life. The figurative torch of Gary Kramer guitar brand was passed on to me and I will do my best to continue the legacy and heritage of Gary Kramer musical instruments.
I had assumed that this was the case, but this is the first written, public confirmation that I've seen.

    3. When the new RR2 and Illusionist were announced here, I was somewhat surprised at the choice of finishes. Yes, they are very attractive, but it's been pointed out and I agree that they probably won't have mass appeal. However, after looking through Leo's site I think I'm starting to understand. He definitely strives to be original, even when he's working with a classic design.

Anyway, if you haven't looked over his site, I definitely recommend that you do.

I knew he was talented, but had no idea until now. Great story and Leo is one hell of a guy!

I haven't bought a "new" guitar since '09,that I liked, and it was a GKG. I was stunned when I saw the new GKG guitars and a GKG will be my next new purchase.

The new line of GKG guitars, import and domestic, are some of the finest guitars I have ever seen. I can't wait to buy one and try it out.

My first GKG was a huge surprise on how well made and set up a guitar can be. My first Gibson/Kramer was a huge disappointment how a crappy build and non set up can be.

Leo and GKG have earned a customer for life when it comes to brand new guitars.

+1 on that. If you are looking for a "new" guitar I highly recommend you check out GKG and anything else Leo is involved with. The guy can make a guitar

I also enjoyed that site, be sure to check out the story on the EVH Replica guitar. Think he would sell it to me?
