Thats cool the pick ups config like a stage master would be.
Jake
so remember i had some problems with lacquer over enamel? well, i finally got around to start all over with painting the headstock. i just used (tamiya) clear pearl lacquer this timenow the headstock is all fixed, logo'd and so i assembled the guitar tonight
the neck is actually a focus neck that i got on ebay last year. i got the body in a trade w/ a forum bro some time ago.
here she is. plays very nicely... i've been getting into this pickup config lately... sd single and a sd trembucker in the bridge.

Do you have the weight rod in it?
Either way make a difference in the sound or tone?
Looks really good.
yeah, as you see in the last picture, the rod is still in there. i don't think i want to take it out to test the sound difference. it doesn't look like it would come out easily; i would have to pry it out and i don't want to do that.sorry...
I've always wondered what held them in there.
I've seen a couple on Ebay without and was just curious. Wouldn't want ya to damage it. I played one once back in like 88 or 89 but can't recall what I thought of it other than it was out of my price range at the time. I liked the sleek body design.
That looks really good with a white head stock.
How close to the colors match?
It really makes it look like a whole different guitar.
I wish Kramer would have done the Pacer series with the matching head stock longer than they did.
The Focus series did it longer.
Maybe Kramer was just short of Pacer necks for a short period so maybe they put Focus necks on Pacer's for awhile.
I ain't hiding from nobody, nobody's hiding from me.
hey tommy, the headstock color match is pretty darn close. the body's pearl white color has faded, so i used tamiya "racing white" (ts-7) and then tamiya pearl clear (ts-65). the headstock is just a shade lighter, if you put them right next to each other. but assembled, with them further apart, one can't tell at all
i like the look w/ the matching headstock too.
i'll do a review of it on youtube when i get a chance. you can hear the tone for yourself.
i have no idea how it would sound without the metal bar insert. i think a forum bro bought one without it recently....there was a discussion of it, whether to make an insert or not... i would imagine it's pretty hard, given that the inset has a contour to it, so it's like like one can just stick a bar in it
plus a custom-made solid metal bar could be

That is nice
thanks, dan, yes the goat herder's got everything
but i didn't want to spend money on this one. this guitar was assembled from parts i had laying around (less the body, which was traded). Really loving this guitar...
new guitars always sound good, don't they?i'm sure after a couple of months i'll move on to something else. maybe then i'll try to get a savant neck for it

The Showster's and the Metalist Kramer's are very underrated.
The one I have plats well and sounds awesome as well.
People think because they are made in Korea that they are junk and lump them in with the other Korean Kramer's.
Therefore they can be purchased with little $.
If I had a limited budget a Showster would be the first guitar I would be looking for.
I ain't hiding from nobody, nobody's hiding from me.
I'm looking for a Showster neck. The one I have is not ... well ... could be better![]()

i actually like the early focus non-tilt pointy better. but showster necks are good too. hell, i like all kramer necks
tommy, what's the electronic config on yours?
does anyone know what the two toggles are for?
the way i wired it up (besides the volume and tone) was:
first toggle is on/on/on for pickup selection; the second toggle (which took a long time to figure out cuz there are no existing diagrams i can find online) is for bridge tap oil. the down position is for the coil closest to the bridge, the middle is for hum, the upper position is for the coil closest to neck. is that how they should be wired up?
anyway i like it this way. but was just wondering if this config is the way it was intended. thanks in advance.
if it is, i'll draw up a picture to contribute to the wiring schematics on the kramer site and our own thread here.
did a short video of the Savant II. the combination of the "tailfin" body, metal insert, contoured thin body, seymour duncan pickups really all came together to make this my best playing "mutts" ever.... my playing still sucksbut i had fun building this one.
