Default One Charvel neck. A body. A Kahler Flyer

I just had these parts sitting around. Just for kicks, I wanted to see if the neck would fit. It did. Then, i tried to install the neck screws. They screwed right in. The Strat body has the normal trem slot and the normal back caviity. Now, all I have to do is have fun trying. Sorry. It's a Spyder.

It's a solid strat-style. I just got done routing the correct hole. I almost got it right on. However, I had to add a piece of wood. I went just a bit too far on one lower side. This is fun. The Charvel neck even has the correct Kahler locking nut.

I was going to ask you if it was the 2 1/4" heel on the Charvel neck..

Yeah. I was shocked. I had a fun time doing the template; centering it; figuring out where to get the correct scale and then hacking and hewing. The swimming pool rout gives me many options when it comes to pups. Maybe an 81-85 combo? I can put the battery in the back cut-out.

You'd have to have someone make a pickguard, but if it were mine I'd one-hum it!

Thought you said it has a Spyder?

Is that an X-acto box there on the bench?

That is a Spyder. Trust me. And that's an x -acto box full of handles and blades and everything. And the neckplate is Charvel as are the tuners.

I've had a Spyder for 20 years and that doesn't look like a Spyder to me. Looks like a cam trem--not a fulcrum trem.

Sorry Fett, that's a Kahler Flyer tremolo, not a Spyder. The Spyder is a fulcrum, 2-post type, similar to a Floyd. The Flyer was the less expensive version of the 2600, or Pro flat-mount.

That swimming pool route gives you so many pup config possibilities. So will it be HSS, HSH or the Frampton triple hum option--lol?

The Flyer is mounted. The trem didn't cover all of the orignial rout. There is a small gap on the control side. I can't see it, therefore it doesn't exist.

I know what pups are going in. I have a loaded Fender pickguard that has the curcuit board like the Elites. I figure the board and the battery will fit in the back cavity. I need to contact certain member to see if he will do it for me. I can't do the exacting soldering.

I expect this sort of thing with a parts mutt. As long as it plays well and sounds good it makes no difference to me.
