Sweet. Are you going to finish it with a stain or color?

I have a SEG body on my short list of things for my next project. But I need to finish my F1K first.

But one comment about the sealer application. Your garage is WAY too empty! You need more crap!!!

Just completed my first wet coat of Krylon Rich Plum (this is after the third coat of primer was applied and wet sanded with 600grit):

Now, just kicking back until tomorrow morning to wet sand, then hitting it with another good coat of purple XD The pic doesn't do it justice, its actually darker than the pics shown

Here are 2 pics of the guitar so far, it has 3 flawless coats of krylon rich plum now...

1 more coat then she's ready to cure for the clear.

p.s. the dark shadowy spot on the guitar was the shadow of my hands lol...

Just couldnt wait! hahaha, 5 coats of clear applied, each time sanded smooth and inspected for high spots, im near completion... Very minimal orange peel now! 2 more coats max and it should be completely smooth!

The next pics i will upload are when the clear coats are final and sanded down to 2000 grit so you can see what it looks like prior to the finishing polish applications about a month from now (cure time)...

Bro love that colour and must say you may get some good results with the Krylon but it seems to me it never cures fully hard and takes forever.... What I would do is let it dry for at least 7-10 days now and then scuff it back slightly and apply a 2K clearcoat it'll dry alot faster be more durable and the results will be fantastic after a flat and polish. Its just my 2 cents as I would hate to see a beautiful paintjob like that ruined by a poor quality clear, trust me bro you will not regret it as krylon clear isn't what it used to be, just hope this helps

Looks good. Remember not to let it ever touch rubber like a guitar stand because it will eat through to the wood.

    Keep the pics coming.

that is a nice color... sensual... like grapes. i want to eat it

seriously, let's make this a learning experience (fill in the blank, ace):
    1) schellac sealer: 4 coats; sand after each coat? what grit?
    2) sand after every coat of primer. 3 coats. 600 grit.
    3) 4 coats of actual paint. wet sand btn each coat with 2000 grit? no wet sand after the 4th coat before clear.
    4) 7 coats of clear. wet sand btn coats with ?? grit?
    5) after 10 days, scuff and apply 2 clear coats to expedite the curing time of paint.

i'll keep updating this list of procedures....
