    Default Pointy neck

Just got this neck off german Ebay.

    http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Seller never asked to my questions but for the price I decided to bid anyway.
I babelfished the description and sounds like that:

For auction here is a Kramer Gibson Explorer style neck. He comes from the stock of a music store, which is in the resolution. The holes for the tuners and Floyd Rose saddles are drilled. The holes for the body yet to be drilled. The fretboard is, as the whole neck, new, and thus not picked up. The neck is very fast and modern.
It looks to me like a legit pointy Kramer neck?
    Whatcha guys think?

Very possible as its in Germany, still made in Japan by ESP so you'll struggle to tell it from a late American series.

Be easier once you have it home

Since same seller sold some days ago also this body
    http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=190424387805
that it looks to me like a 1986-87 Pacer Custom NOS body, that neck could really be an ESP made... can't wait to have it (but as I've been not so lucky with guitar related matters lately, better waiting it's here safe)

    I checked here
    http://www.vintagekramer.com/pacer2.htm
and where it's written "1986-87" there's a pic of a white PC on the left that seems to have the same body shape of that sold red body?

The body in the pic at vintage kramer does not have the lower horn scoop that the ebay body you linked to does. It's just a sharp radius standard Pacer Custom style body

I believe the lower horn scoop came later than 86-87...

    *edit,
I just re read the page VK page you linked to and it says this about the lower horn scoop:

    1988-90

The changes of 1988-90 were not so much models but details. The Pacer Imperial went back to the 2 straight hums and all still had the 3/4 size sharp radiused body later gaining a recessed treble horn scoop in 1989 and the 12th...
So it would seem that body with the scoop would be closer to 1989...

    Yes you guys are right.
It probably is from a late 80 early 90 Schaller assembled axe.
Nice, if it's the same quality of my Retta 3 it should be very good.

I'd go as far as putting money on the table that its an S serial Schaller body.

The later no serial ones had a FR recess for the Schaller FRII, that one was recess for a full OFR.
Wish I'd seen that body would have bought that!

Yep but they were not for sale at the same time...
And then, I was reading again the description, the neck do not have body holes so that was not its body. It's a NOS one.

    I have a question...
How to paint the h/s without painting the top side of the binding too? It looks so difficult covering it with masking tape cause it's too thin.

Know nothing about how thats done....

But F**klin Hell Stefano talk about a killer deal thats obviously how they arrive at the Jolana plant from ESP before they put the Kramer decal on the Schaller models

NOS Euro model neck never seen one of those before, gotta love bad pictures and an unresponsive seller sometimes
