Default Relic Mutt I put together

This strat copy body was brand new yesterday. I tossed it down the driveway, used it as a skateboard, took a screwdriver to it, sanded it and put black and brown shoe polish on it and this is what you get. It was fun as hell watching the neighbors look at me like I was crazy. Original floyd and gold schaller tuners. Swimming pool route underneath so I may switch to 3 single coils one day but these were the parts I had laying around.

I like it as it is!

Total attitude! Very cool guitar man.

And just imagine, you did that yourself yet there's alot of die hard Fender snobs that are paying big bucks to have the factory do the same exact thing.
Why is it a couple of so called members only use this place to promote themselves and troll the Klassifieds?

Sorry pal, you're still a nobody.

That's a good looking axe! I like the H-S-S pickup combo and the gold Floyd is killer! Looks a little like Stevie Ray Vaughn's #1, with a couple of improvements!

Its an old neck I had lying around, I'm going to have to level the frets for it to play good, 7th and 12 frets are buzzin, but it sounds good, wiring setup has a coil split for the humbucker. I put the floyd on instead of the vintage style trem and humbucker because I need those to really play it, I didn't want to just look at it like some of my guitars are.

    Dude that's so freakin' cool.

The ONLY problem I see is that OFR looks so shiny and new.

The neighbours must have thought you'd flipped Tommy, I'm glad it's a strat you relic'd though. Looks distressed and ready to roll

If I did something like that my snobs that live around me would call the cops.

"Honest officer this thing will look cool as hell when I get done beating the hell out of it" hehehehe

I must admit it does look like a rode hard put away wet guitar ( In a good way)

    mamamamamamamammoooojooooo

Awesome man. Now go put it in pawn, get it out, grease up your hands, let 10 other guitarists play it, and then its a true beast of a whore guitar.

    Nice nice nice.

Thanks guys for the comments. I played it tonight at a gig for the first time. Little Wing never sounded better. It felt like the guitar had mojo even though I know the wear was done by my driveway. I even played some Metallica on it, the coil split works nice.

I knew Mick played a relic strat but i thought it was black. Thanks for the pic.

The floyd, I got it on ebay for 4 bucks. It was so worn it didn't look like an original floyd on the auction. But it works just fine and was perfect for this project.

On the back, I'm having all my friends carve their names it it. Everyone gets a kick out of it.

I have a couple of guys here in town who want me to make them one, so I may try and build a few more.
