I only had this guitar for a few months. Got rid of it because I didn't really like the neck on this one for some reason.

Here´s is the only one LP I have.. I took some pic some months ago with my Swan.. so here are the duet. I must say it´s a chinese copy I could get very cheap from second hand and would like to try. I replace the pickups (now with the original Zakk Wylde EMG´s set) and also all the electronics and tuners. Stock pickups and electronics were completely a crap. Now I could get some good sounds from the guitar. Took guitar to my luthier to have a professional opinion about the woods and he told me that woods probably are the only thing in were they spent the money. The body is mahogany and the neck maple. Worse thing was the electronics and the finish of bendings in some parts.

And here´s is my son (in a couple of days turns five). Now I´m trying to teach him a little. He likes too much guitars also, and Tokio Hotel band hahahaha... he´s a very young fan.

Smorgdonkey: Nice collection there. Specially really beautiful Ibanez from the lawsuit era. Did you know the history behind those models from mid´s 70´s?? let me explain it. They were running in production only for a few years (I don´t know exactly... but think less than a decade). The history tells that Ibanez were made a high end quality LP style guitars that in some moment they catch the attention of Gibson and they took the japanese company to a judge. So finally they need ti stop his production of Ibanez LP. But at the moment I don´t know the reason why there are lots of companies making copies of the LP models and have no problems??
Well... let us know what of true are in history. Are they so good sounding and crafted guitars?? Such a difference with a Gibson model?? You have different LP models so may you are perfect to answer and give us a good opinion.

Breizman: Yoir custom made is beautiful, specially the neck.

The 1976 is definitely a great guitar. Many people will tell you that they rival the Gibsons. I would have to say that as well. If someone were to 'fake' the headstock on one of these (there'd be some cutting involved) and make it look like a Gibson it would fool many many people.
Here is one of the best Ibanez lawsuit links that I have ever run into...
    http://www.guitarattack.com/destroyer/lawsuit.htm

I would think that just about anyone who runs into one of these guitars will give it a stellar review because the craftsmanship is very high end. Sometimes the 'star' tuners can be a bit suspect and the hardware often shows wear but these guitars are really something else.

The story behind mine is that I saw it on Kijiji Halifax and I responded. The guy got back to me and said that he was in Quebec. We went back and forth and I decided that I couldn't just send some stranger $500 so I told him that. He replied that all I had to do was send him $50 and he'd send the guitar through the post office C.O.D. Well...I had never thought of that! So I agreed.

He told me that a guy that had come to buy his SRV strat and the guy said "I'll take that one too" while pointing to the Ibanez. He said "there is a guy who I am talking to about that one". The other guy said "If he doesn't buy it then call me and I'll come back". He said that he doesn't play much any more and that he used to play in bands. He had to sell some of his guitars prior to moving to where he was living and he said that he sold his Gibson Les Paul goldtop (one of 300 made) and kept the Ibanez instead. Even after the deal was done this guy just gushed about this guitar. He had decided to sell the last few as he was moving into an apartment.

So I really got lucky on that one. The seller could have 'moved on' at any number of points during the negotiations and especially when someone was right there saying that they wanted it. Big ethics in my opinion. He told me that he had to tell many, many people that it was gone after the deal between us was struck. Yes, $500 including shipping.
