This is very funny, because I just dug out my Britny Fox LP and listened to that song and thought 'man this is a good solo'
Maybe you're telepathic or somesuch.
Everyone, post what you feel would be one of the/the greatest guitar solo's ever.
I'm gonna go with...
Long Way To Love - Britny Fox
that solo is just TASTY!
but they look alittle, shall we say..."Fruity?"![]()

I doubt anyone knows these boys. One of my favorite bands for sure. There is a decent solo in every song. i just picked any song because they are all good.
Loudness - Like Hell
Lead guitarist - Akira Takasaki
enjoy:
And here is another one. their later days when Mike Vescara was the singer.
Another rocking song with a good solo.

Hey Kurenai, a lot of guys here actually know and love Loudness, including myself!
When I die, sprinkle my ashes over the 80's.
Eruption - Eddie Van Halen
Bad Medicine - Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi)
Cherry Pie & I saw red - Warrant
Bohemian Rhapsody - Brian May (Queen)
You Got Nothing I want - Ian Moss (Cold Chisel)
Enter Sandman - Kirk Hammet - (Metallica)
Dirty Little Thing - Slash (Velvet Revolver)

I get shivers down my spine everytime I hear the last part of the November Rain Guitar Solo, I've been trying to learn that and get it right, Just can't nail it yet though.

Too bad for that great song that Axl wrote that he had a guitarist with broken fingers to play.
Sorry but i think that Slash is a crappy guitarist. He had a couple cool ideas with some songs like the intro to sweet child o mine but he sucks as a guitar player.
his intonation sucks ass.
I know this is an obvious one, but the solo for Pink Floyd's 'Comfortably Numb' still gives me chills (as do alot of Gilmours leads).
And here's another big Loudness fan!![]()
"Foat Wayne Indiana, are you weady to wock and woll??? Wock and Woll Cwazy Nights!!!!"

"Foat Wayne Indiana, are you weady to wock and woll??? Wock and Woll Cwazy Nights!!!!"
Thats the shit right there! 'Wun for your wife, wun fwom the pire'
Sweet child o' mine, cool intro riff right? Well the story goes that he was running through some warm up exercises in a book and the rest of the band said 'hey that sounds pretty cool' Izzy added some chords over it and voila! the song was born. Well or so I read. Slash is ok, but he's SOOOO overrated!!!! He has the most awesome image though, and the fact he is still musically relevant today does say something.
When I die, sprinkle my ashes over the 80's.
Oh by the way, Ben, I'm an accquaintance of Billy Child's...so any bass questions you have... Haha.
When I die, sprinkle my ashes over the 80's.
I'm close to you there with Floyd Jeremy.
But I was going to say just go listen to Shine On You Crazy Diamond, and not just the parts they play live but the whole thing, its not fast and its not super technical.
But that is seriously a guitarist at his most creative![]()
JUST BOUGHT A KRAMER GUITAR AND WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT IT???
THEN.... "Look at www.vintagekramer.com for info, look at www.ebay.com for prices guides, then come back here in 3 months and tell me how great your guitar is"
the thing about slash is. he aint a tapper, he aint a speed freak. but what he does have is melody.
comeone i dont think anyone can say that the solo for sweet child of mine, november rain, out ta get me etc are bad. slash is a fantastic bender, sounds simple but its not.

One of the tastiest guitar solos ever, (in a monster ballad type song) is "Walk Away" by Dokken. Lynch can bring you to your knees on that one.

My Kramers on VK! I wish I still had most of these...
Alvin Lee's solo in 'I'm Comin Home' recorded at Woodstock gets my vote of approval.
A man who was way ahead of his time and in a league of his own.

Kurenai man I have to say Kyogi Yamamoto in Vow Wow has always been killer they were bigger in the UK than Loudness.

The GREATEST solo of all time, the one that lasts 5 minutes or more:
F R E E B I R D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![]()
Also, would have to nominate pretty much anything by Satch, and Texas Flood by SRV!!!
And Kurenai, Lefthandedshredder was speaking the truth, I totally love Loudness. My favorite record was Soldier of Fortune. But thier other stuff was just as good!!!!![]()

The intro in Ashes to the sky is awesome(not akira´s solo, i mean the clean guitar playing the chords of the song). Akira is an awesome shredder, and crazy nights is kinda like the ultimate 80´s metal riff, kicks ass.
BTW, akira used Voyaguer shaped axes? esp`s?
i dunno but those are pretty cool

Sorry Ben, but that song sucked. I can see why they were unknowns here in North America. Man dude, that was just all around bad. It was almost commical to watch.
BTW Ben, you can play better than that guitarist anyday. I'm still waiting for Canada's last shredder to hit the scene.![]()
