Default Daddy got an early B-day Present - DK2M

Had to buy it for myself, but been wanting one. (although, not as cool as Mr. Cool's)

Its amazing how similiar these are to Proaxe's in body shape and contour. Then again, who stole what from whom?

Talked the guy down to $460 at Guitar Center, convinced him some rub marks were scratches. Would have liked to have paid less, but not too bad of a deal and didn't have to pay sales tax.

Now to figure out what gets sold to fund it, hum. Mr Gilker, interested in a Condor?

Sweet thats the one I want as well. How would you rate that against an Imperial? Trying to get someone here to let go of a pointy Imperial is like pissing up a rope, so this is the second choice, or a Hamer Diablo.

    Thanks

Different neck than a pointy Imperial. The frets are Jackson Jumbos, the neck is a R4, and overall, just a different beast. Its definitely a Jackson, but what I really like are these necks don't feel like the cheaper Dinky necks they've been putting out over the last several years. They feel like USA Jackson necks.

I'm really impressed with these guitars, the real Duncans and the maple board for under $500 brand new, you can't hardly beat that.

The guitar screams though, its definitely got a Kramer type vibe to it, I really like the tone.

If I had a few extra bucks, I'd send it to GMW for a copperheard Snakeskin paint job. That would look SWEET.

Thanks! I think the only downside I can find, they aren't real inlays and the binding is faux. Its painted black I think with a light clear coat over it to protect. That doesn't bother me that much, but I hope it doesn't wear off over time.

Very cool guitar Mike. I love those DK2's too. I scored a blue w/orange flame one from Musicians friend when they had them for $399 last summer. But I like the maple board on yours better.

I'm interested in the DK2Ms, but the next guitar I buy will probably be the last for like 1 and 1/2 years, so I've gotta make it a Kramer.

I'm glad you got it, and at a good price

I used mine at rehearsal, loud, through my Marshall (TSL100) - man o' man - this thing rocks. I figured I'd use it for a couple of tunes and use my other "metal" standbys - but I played this the whole time.

The neck is very fast, flat - you can fly. This and the Marshall are made for each other.

I'm glad they finally came down for you

Jackson definitely got these things right both tonally and playability wise.

Best Japanese guitar they've put out in years, IMO.

Jackson does seem to have really turned the quality around on there Japanese guitar over the past couple years. It's nice to have them back in the game again.

I've got DK2's in both the BOF (blue orange flames) & the EDS (eerie dess swirl ) & for some damn reason I actually like the duncan designed pups in them better that the JB & Jazz in my DK2M the humbucker is much brighter with more growl & bite go figure huh??

Now this is a graphic I would jump on if it were on the reissue!

The JB is probably hotter, and also the maple board probably adds some brightness too.

I can tell a big difference in a maple boarded guitar with a JB vs a rosewood board with a JB. I guess thats why I'm so prone to wanting maple board everythings!

I knew once I saw these DK2M's, I must have one just for the maple alone.

Love the orange flame ones. I could have bought one for $350 used at GC awhile back and didn't do it! I'm such an idiot.

I have to tell you I'm really on the fence with regards to Kramer, Jackson and Charvel -all just really quality stuff and I don't care if they all come from Antartica. Something about the vintage Kramers though that keep me corraling them.

    Nice HotWheels Jeremy!
Hmm, I've always thought the Shark fin inlays were cool. Now I got a thought -I'm wondering way back did Jackson take a look at the Rickenbackers and say hey we can do that.
