Mike,
How do you decide which to pick up first to play? I struggle deciding with only 7 guitars. The purple pacer is still my favorite. Very nice collection Mike. :thumbsup

Nice toys Mike. I like the way you have access to all of them. I need to do something like that. It always seams like the one I want to get at is under the stack which makes it easy to not bother.

Good Lord, Mike! I almost had a heart attack!!! You got that Ripley finished, eh? And are you finally getting around to restoring your 83 retta? (I see it has no tuners... ;) ) You have a wicked "herd" dude. Makes me wish I had that much space...

Hey Mike, nice collection! :drool Is that slat wall you got those hanging on? I am thinking of doing that also. Did you buy that in 4x8 sheets, and what did you use to hang it?....I have plaster walls, so I am a little concerned about how to put it up. Also where did you get all the hangers?
Thanks Mike, keep collecting :headbang

They are weird sized slat boards that I picked up when Mars Music went out of business here in Dallas. I got the whole setup for around $150 (stupid cheap). That shit is high dollar if you have to buy it from the manufacturer too. I wish I would have bought more. I think I have around another 20 hangers left, but then I'd have to move my desk out, so that would be a problem. :) Long story with how I had to acquire those from Mars, I basically paid them and they said "ok, take what you want". And then I look up at this 20 foot wall of slatboards, I have no tools, and no way of disassembling them. I ended up tearing some of their displays up completely just to get 4 boards. LOL
I backed up the wall with 2x4's mounted flat on the wall into the studs. Then I mounted the slatboard to those studs. I haven't seen any stress cracks in the sheetrock, so I think its working out ok.
As far as not leaving home with them in there, notice dog cage in the room. Thats my buddy Bluto's home, my 90 pound Rottie that hates strangers. he he
Which one is my favorite, thats hard to say. In terms of what to look at, the HRC graphic by far. In terms of player and sound, I'd have to say my Proaxe, or the blue burst Pacer. The nanners are also really really good players too, I'm fickle, I love em all. They all get played.
Thanks guys!
Mike

Hey Mike, Thanks for the answers.....Home Depot sells 4x8 slatboard sheets. A local Guitar shop down here used it....looks good. I would just need a couple....thats a good idea of mounting a 2x4 then the slat board to that...thanks alot.

Funny you should ask that, Dave (KramerPacer) kidnapped it this year at NAMM. Hopefully he'll give it back soon if I pay his ransom demands!!
Seriously, he borrowed it. I miss it too.

Thanks doods. I've been very fortunate to acquire alot of these through friends who have helped me out. Thanks to all of you who have helped me get my dream collection and make VK (and this forum) such a great place to share my heart and soul for guitars. Its a blast knowing every day how much fun and excitement it brings me, especially with the Expos and getting to know people literally across the world that I can call best friends.

Yeah my wife saw that and said "Thats what you need to do" and immediatly after "how many is that" haha...
I think I could make a case to add a few more to the herd! "Honey, I have an empty space on that wall!" She fancies herself as a decorator so it might work!

Beautiful collection. How do you decide which one to play with all those choices. I assume you rotate them so they all get played. Any of them stick out as your fave, tone and feel wise?

Usually I have a few go to guitars, the rest are just purdy to look at. I pull the classic heads down quite often. Just depends on mood I guess. :)
Just like Danno, George, Rick, etc, I've just accumulated them over time, I spent less than you would think on most of those guitars. A few were pretty high priced tough, but generally I try to stay conservative.
Somehow, I'm still married. :)

Prayer always helps. I recite The Man's Prayer every day:
"I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess."
And I keep my motto close to my heart:
"Quando omni flunkus moritati."
Which, simply put, means: "when all else fails, play dead".
I'm pullin' for ya, we're all in this together. :thumbsup

ROFL!
Play dead, or say "huh" alot and just keep repeating it. You can also start referring to your wife as "it" in a Silence of the Lambs kind of way, but the cops may get called on ya. :)
.... or so I've heard.
"It doesn't question the guitar purchase sin, or else it gets the hose again."

No Lie, I just bought another Amp that I really didn't need. My living room now has less room for people then it does for rigs and instruments. I have a Gf thats nice enough to make cleaning and organizing her pleaser, and weekly gift to me. As she finished up her cleanup off all my stuff, she said "make me a promise that this is it. No more" As I was assuring her that I have not even browsed the local new paper for so much as a patch cord, we hear Ding Dong Ding Dong, and Dump me says can you get it, OF course its the Fed Ex guy hidden behind two boxes stacked higher then my door. :-x :-x Even he said, wow you get lots of deliveries.
Ha ha.
