Give you a choice of a Lead and Rhythm who would you take? Eddie, Joe and Mr Vai not allowed.

My choice are as follows.

LEAD= Steve Stevens
RHYTHM=Ted Nugent

Hell i know its a silly thread. But i cant sleep. All excited for chistmas ;)

Ps i have a feelin Mr Lynch might appear in one or two lineups.

Tough call this one but I reckon I'd have George & Randy trading off one another, if I could add a third it'd be Zakk to give things a bit more growl :D

The 2 guys who get the most of my playlists are Jake and George, in no particular lead/rhythym preference. Both are accomplished in either, but I prolly give Jake more props than George in rhythym/songwriting and George more props in face-ripping.

Since I cant have Eddie or Vai that makes it tough and you guys may think I'm crazy but.

1st choice
lead Vitto Bratta
Rythm Jeff Watson

2nd choice
Lead Glenn Tipton
Rythm CC Deville

I watched Kramergeek shred on his recording and ..........Hummmmm maybe he should be in here somewhere

I know my choices are a bit out there but the post took away my first two choices

C.C. Deville....there's one pisser of a guy. Unskinny Bop is a funny song (in both ways) :D He is a great guitarist though in all Poison music....can't say the same for the bassist.....unskinnny bop bassline.....anyone for one note for 3 minutes and 48 seconds???

Wow, another Vito fan. I alway felt he was one of the more under-rated guitarists of the time. But just listen some of his stuff like "Hungry" and he really is amazing. Good call bro! :thumbsup

Vito Bratta from White Lion !! :headbang I forgot about him...he is an excellent guitarist too. :thumbsup Both him and CC Deville were both very underrated guitarists from the last 20yrs. I wonder what Vito is up to these days ? :scratchhe

Last I heard, Vito was doing studio production. I don't think he even plays anymore! Quite a loss to the guitar world.
Blackie Lawless was awsome too, and what about Chris Holmes? That dude was just crazy on guitar!
Here's another cool combo:

Rhythm - Tom Keifer
Lead - Mark Kendall

The last thing that I read about Vito was that he had carpal tunnel and couldn't play anymore and was contemplating surgery. It truly is a big loss.

I'm kinda surprised no one had said Malmsteen.

lefthandedshredder
12-21-2005, 08:05 PM
Someone did. IMO-Malmsteen is to clished for my liking. He just plays the same thing on every album and you can't differentiate his music. People always bag him out and stuff for doing the same thing....yet again no-one says 'Hey, Clapton, stop playing the same generic blues riff'

I can handle a bit of Malmsteen sometimes...but not a lot and not often. No doubt he is an awesome guitarist with an amazing life story (you guys should read his bio) and it's amazing sometimes to just watch his speed and technique. Anyway what he's doing is kinda his trademark and thing and you don't see too many other people doing Neo Classical shred..!!!

You are dead on about Becker, bro. He was almost incomprehensibly fast, and he was just starting to get wild. Just imagine if he had been able to keep going. Another 10 years of experience and he might literally have re-invented the guitar.

I gotta put in my vote again for Tony Macalpine. If you guys have never heard the album "Moonbabies" by the super-group Planet X (Virgil Donati - best drummer in the world, Derek Sherinian - Ex-Dream Theater, and various amazing bassists) then you gotta DL some of their songs. "Noble Savage" off of that album will change your life. Tony does shit on that album that makes my head spin. :headbang

They almost play everymonth at the Baked Potato (http://www.thebakedpotato.com/). I would highly advise going there once in your lifetime if you are ever out in Los Angeles. Top notch acts in the littlest venue you will ever party in. I just checked, OHM is playing there next week Hhahaha :lol

Damn right Andy, Angus & Malcolm were born in Glasgow & quite possibly the greatest rock & roll singer the late great Bon Scott was Scottish too born in Kirriemuir. Angus used to wear his blazer with a Scotland badge sewn on & Bon had a couple of Scotland tattoes, Bon always said he changed his name from Ronald to Bon as Bon Scott for him was a tip of the hat to Bonnie Scotland :thumbsup If anyone wants to check out Bon at his finest get a hold of 'If you want blood you got it' live - has some great crowd interaction from the old Glasgow Apollo.
