Hey bros...
Remember in the thread about Guitar setup/repair in Northwest IL? Well, forum bro Diz posted that he was gonna stop in my Jewel and pick up some green peppers...
Well, lo and behold I get to work today, and the first customer I see asks me where the green peppers are. I say "Right over there, sir", and he says "Dude...I'm DIZ!!!" I was floored!!!
Anyways, what a cool dude. We chatted Kramers for a while, lots of Nightswan talk :thumbsup and he invited me, Jeff (Tourpicx), Pat (KramerGeek) and Illini89 to a big old jam session!! Definately made my day! It's always cool to meet a forum bro in person!!

Brent, that's the new code phrase. "Where are the Green Peppers". You must now memorize it, and never again utter it to another non-Kramer agent. :D
Dan, Diz rocks! We talked about how cool all the forum members are!

I'm there if I can bring some red and yellow peppers and roast them on the grill. Add some Italian dressing and some anchovies (on the side if you don't like them) and you've got some great grub.
I think a jam session would be great. Like a mini Kramer convention.

I dare anyone to try to feed me something to spicy for me to eat.
We have some close friends who own a Thai restaurant and I eat spicier food than they do.
Jalapeno peppers? The equivalant of pickles as far as I'm concerned.
Habanero peppers? Now we're talking....
My favorite hot sauce is some stuff my step daughter bought me for. It's called 'Ass In The Tub'. It basicaally liquified Habanero peppers.
This is the only hot stuff I've found yet that I have to be careful with.
I always have an 8 oz. bottle of this stuff on my desk at work. We have pizza every Thursday and this is what we use for extra pizza sauce.

BTW: I'm really hoping I can get to the convention to meet a bunch of you guys too. I'll have to have a couple Heinies with Remy and a few Guinnesses with Andy.

Alex, that sounds awesome, I'm definately there guys. :phone We just need to work out a time and place and I'm good to go. Weekends are best.
Hey Pat, have you ever tried Joe Perry's Boneyard Brew sauce. That is some very :evil sauce that leaves quite the afterburn. It has red bell pepper, habanero pepper, chipolte pepper (sp?) and vinegar and salt.

Let me know a time and a place. I will be there if possible. I will bring some liquid refreshments to cool everyone off from the hot sauce.

Yucateca is pretty mild stuff considering the habanero.
I have a bottle of "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THIS HOT SAUCE!" it's made with oleresn capsicum. Hotter than hellfire. Bad stuff I can't handle it. I use "Slap yo mama" sauce, scorned woman sauce, Kiss your ass goodbye sauce. I love heat. I make my chili with jalapenos and habanero both. The mexi place here has yucateca in both green and red but I carry my own hot sauce in.
anything over say 500,000 scoville and I won't even touch it. that's just asking to die.

I like my women (woman these days) hotter than my sauce.. ;)
The ones she uses for cooking are named Madame Jeanette..I bet you have different names for it.

Rated 10 on a hot scale and names in latin: Capsicum chinense
Anytime Pat-we can share Guiness too, I do not mind mingle with the Brits. I am easy going :toast
Can't wait-need a grand and the flights booked!

Habaneros are great; my dad used to grow them in his garden. He can even eat them raw, but I prefer them in a sauce.
That "El Yucateco" is good stuff. I have some, but even hotter versions. I have the green chile sauce, and the brown super-hot habanero sauce. I also have a nice chipotle sauce they make.
The brown is probably the hottest thing I've ever eaten, but it's so good. I found it at a Mexican market near my house. It's made from an ancient Mayan recipe.

Chile Peppers! now we're talkin'
Remy, I think those are the antilles version of Scotch Bonnet peppers. Closely related to the Habs but slightly more rounded and sweeter. Still about 20,000+ on the Scoville unit rating scale. Why is the Elton John song Island Girl coming to mind? :scratchhe :poke
You guys want a good time, the wife and I went on a Chile Pepper Magazine cruise in the carribean way back before we had kids. :evil You never met a nicer bunch of chile-heads in one place. Chile peppers are spelled with an 'e' but I bet we all make a mean batch of Chili huh? What say we schedule a chili cookoff at the Kon? Then I'll have to go fer shure. :evil

THat could be true Steve..They are originally from SOuth America and as a species quite rare-now they're cultivated ofcourse..anybody wants a bag of seeds, let me know.
I thought these were the bastards, but there's one worse called Adjuma. Those are the baddest peppers West of the Andes.
Adjuma is short for A gi uma. Which means he/it gives the woman...Now I always wonder what is pepper is giving..I guess a good suntan ;)
Let me find a picture again.

Where I originate from (Slovakia) we have a soupy type dish called 'Paprikash' which has Paprika and dumplings along with chicken pieces that melt in your mouth all served in a nice soupy stew. Now my grandmother is totally nuts when it comes to these things and she puts HABANERO'S IN IT! aaaaaargh talk about calling '000' to get the firebridgade in! (in aus 000 is like your 911)

Hmmm, love a good paprikash! Too mild if you can find it in the states.
Hey Remy, I'll take you up on them seeds but you better put them in a balloon and swallow them if you bring them with you. Never heard of the Adjuma peppers. I've had Aji peppers so I wonder if they're similar. :scratchhe

My first encounter with the dreaded Madame J'eanette was with Roti, the dish you probably know with curried chicken, potatoes and those long beans on special pancake. There is also a whole egg traditionally in there, and I thought there was some pretty looking vedgetable mash on top. Put the egg and all the shredded peppers as a whole in my mouth...and I can easily take Madras or Vindaloo but that's just too much :evil

This ain't the hottest I've ever had, but it has the best name: ASS REAPER

And the little Skeletor outfit tops it all off.

Steve, I look them up and sent you a bag, no worries mon :afro
I was mistaken on pictures with Adjuma and Madame Jeanette. So for clarification 2 pics of both species, verified by my Surinamese-Caribbean better half, ayyight!!
Adjuma :evil :evil :evil :

Madame Jeanette :evil :
http://www.freewebs.com/worldpacifictrading/loods%207%20218.jpg
And the 'groente' (veggies) site the other ingredients for hot soulfood Suriname style is on:
Surinamese Veggies+ Recipes (http://www.freewebs.com/worldpacifictrading/groente.htm)
I look the seed sup and send them over, Adjuma is most always hottest, but for some reason (natureproduct?) is weak?!
Remy
ps. Roti Chicken is my favorite dish Mies!

Sometimes the real world gets in the way of fun.
It sucks, but thats just the way it is.
After a 4 month lay-off I'm changing careers.
I've been building refrigeration machinery for 20 years
Monday I leave for 3 weeks of school in Wisconsin.
I'm going to be an O.T.R. trucker. After that its 8
weeks with a trainer, then I get my own truck.
Screw the corporate head games!
When I get my own truck, I will be bringing my Ovation accoustic with me. But for now it looks like a jam session aint a happening thing.
Sometime reality sucks.
We play both kinds of music.
Country AND Western! <(humor)
