...He was doing a blues gig by me and ended up meeting him after the show and talked a little about Nightswans.

What a totally cool individual.

He told me that the Nightswan bodies and necks were both manufactured at Warmoth!

Definately the coolest thread of the week!!

He meant all Swans or his (1st) one. We knew Buddy Blaze made him Warmoth inspired (see cavityshape).

Either way-coollest thread!

I love it when a star takes the time to chat and then signs something that he no longer endorses. He's my hero (sniff). To cool Bro. I second the vote for cool thread of the week.

I think Remy's right. This is the thread of the week.

That's cool that you got him to autograph the guitars.

Did you get him to contribute to the open jam? ;)

Awesome Dude!!! Wow, Vivian is one of the top true greats in my book and I am sure you will remember this night forever. Those swans signed by him :drool Too Cool!! Hey imagine going to a VH show and meeting Ed and him signing your Kramer:bongNever mind, just goes to show that fame does not have to make you stuck-up and Vivian must know it is his fans that make it happen. Tell us about the show, love to hear more.
Congrats :headbang

What a stand up guy. :thumbsup You hear these stories about former endorsees that won't even look at your guitar unless they have a current deal, obviously not the case with Vinnie.

Thanks guys!! By the look on my face in that one picture, you can tell I was like Lucy Ricardo meeting William Holden! :embarasse

Once again, he was really cool! I lucked out and the bouncer was a cool guy as well. He let me park in the back and bring out my guitars in to have Vivian sign them.

Def Leppard is on break for now and that is why he's doing the blues thing. He does an awesome job on blues covers.

It was funny when he looked at my guitars and said "I have a couple of these in my /gare-age/". Then he had told me that Warmoth was the main supplier for Nighswans. One of his roadies recently had one neck and one body made at Warmoth. He said they still have th CNC program to pump them out.

Anyways, I had a far out time last night. :toast

He'd have to sign neatly...my blue-sparkle Swan is minty.

SOOO COOOL!!! Vivian rules!
So, you're saying that ALL the nightswans were made with Warmoth parts?? Does that make them one of the few Kramers that were made and assembled entirely in the US? That'd be sweet!

That was my impression. He said they logo'd and painted the necks as well :viking . The cavity cover totally is a Warmoth design.

Here's my thinking on the Warmoth deal (total assumption here).

I think the early ones were made by Warmoth. Somewhere, a change happened because the neck finishes changed. If you've ever noticed on earlier ones, they have a real thick gloss back finish. On some of the middle to later models, they are more satin finished, ala ESP. ESP would have had to have become the supplier at some point because they had the overseas made and sold Nightswans, allbeit, they didn't have ping pong inlays. So, there's probably some truth in what Vivian says, I'm just wondering if at some point it was moved overseas to ESP.

Warmoth definitely made those early parts for Buddy/ala Vivian though.
