Hi all! Finally I got a lumie!
I asked in this forum some time ago about this lumie. It's a 450G. It has been modified. The pickups are not original, and an extra switch for phase-switching has been installed. One pickup is a vintage Bill Lawrence L-90; this has been a good surprise (I did not know about that when I bough it).
Now I have to clean the thing (a lot of shit there!), and I have a question: What product should I use to clean the ebonol fingerboard?
I have searched in the forum, but I have not found anything (there are some broken links to deleted posts).
The axe sounds terrific!
Regards.

Congrats on a fine looking 450G you got there:thumbsup I use fine steel wool to clean the ebonol fretboards and frets on my Lumies...does a nice job

The manual that came with them when they were new says not to use steel wool. I'm sure it's because it leaves all that crap on the pickups. If you use steel wool, mask the pickups tightly first. Vacuum the stuff off the tape before removing it.

+1 that. If not, you can cause a shortout of the coils. I left steel wool and went with wet sanding paper/lemon oil/toothbrush to give fretboards (non laquered) a good cleaning.

Right on. You want to use your pickups to create a signal from your guitar, not to hold a bunch of iron filings.

Look it up, the only thing to use is lighter fluid with a cloth and/or a soft toothbrush.

I have a question about the 450g:
Walnut or Koa?

I think maybe the earliest ones (square body heel) were Koa, but most, like yours and mine are Walnut with Maple "stripes"

[QUOTE=krazykreat;613918]nolvadex is used to treat breast cancer in women and in men (especially after castration)
so assuming i now have male breast cancer and have been castrated, what are the chances nolvadex will kill me? should i take 3, 4, or the whole bottle? :D

If you want to be safe while cleaning the fret board, try a bowling ball cleaner:

Of the 3 lumies I own one was unplayed so no filth, one was a bit dirty, the fretless bass filthy nasty, cleaned it up spotless, then again no frets to clean around...

A nice cotton towel will work just fine. Those necks are "slick" and the gunk comes off pretty easy compared to a rosie board.
cool! will try. towel sounds good.
