Voyager made it in today, transported rough enough to yank the neck screws and split some wood. I have ordered the correct size Helicoil kit for a simple fix and TB III glue for the wood. The left hand conversion is clean but the fill material in the old holes shows. The original color is Burgandy so when I fix it burgandy it will be again. I'll change it back right hand and fix the front holes and input but just might leave the extra route and leave it active, just a thought.

That sucks, they had to be really tossing that thing around to do that kind damage. I had to heli-coil my DMZ6000G because of stripped threads, which is much better than the original threaded aluminum. I'd also look at replacing the neck bolts, those originals are cut and grinded to size and may snag up your new heli-coils. Good luck with the fix, you seem to have it well under control and by the way nice pair of Lumie "V"'s:thumbsup

Who knows where on the line it happened...

I really like all the UPS workers i've come into contact with, my driver is cool, nice guy... people the UPS store are usually good with stuff (made my move from Chicago a breeze)... that said so many people get their hands on these boxes that it's hard to say. My guess would be the people that load the trucks would probably fuck shit up the most since i'd imagine their job blows the most.

i have a lot of good experience with those guys, but some bad also: after the second vinyl-record that arrived broken, because DHL (in this case) tried to get it into the narrow mailbox instead of ringing the doorbell i complained that at the company. the next day the DHL-guy showed up again and payed for the record... i was later told, they are responsible for any damaged if you can trust it happened during delivery.

so maybe it is worth having a talk with UPS in your case..?
