Decide to try recording some stuff. Warning there will be mistakes and timing errors, this si my second year playing guitar so go easy on me :).

Made using a backing track off the internet, my Frankentiger guitar, and mixcraft's Shred Amp simulator.

Enjoy!

Any Critque is welcome, as long as you don't hurt my feelings.

Pretty cool, Jarrod. The channel for the solo was low in volume compared to the other tracks. To put all of that together after only two years of playing is impressive.

Thank you :).

I put the solo volume low as to try and cover some mistakes. I'm not to solo-savy, so solos such as solos arranged by George Lynch arn't easy for me :)

Why thank you :)

I just wanted to know what people think I should work on technique wise, as I still have a lot to learn.

Sounded very good for a second year player. The real good part is that you are learning to play in time with music. I played for quite a while without a backing track or other musicians and was absolutely shocked at how bad I sucked when I started playing with other people (a band) or even just a backing track.

Good job man!

yeah my guitar teacher suggestested playing to backing tracks after we tried to jam together XD.

So it's what I've been doing ever since. Really helps.

Thanks for the comment!

that was cool Jarrod...how did you record it?Mics?
The biggest thing you could do to help your recordings is go direct in Stereo to whatever you are recording with....and dont feel bad...solos arranged by George Lynch are not easy for me either:D
Keep it up .....you will never regret the hours and effort you put into music!!!!:thumbsup

I ran my guitar directly into my computer and use an amplifier simulator called shred that comes with mixcraft 5. Then I had a cab simulator that simulated a marshall cab, a "tape" Delay effect, an EQ with a "Classic V" eq curve, and a master limiter.

What do you mean to go direct to stereo? I panned the Rythm guitar 75% to the left, the lead 25% to the right, and the backing track centered, if thats what you mean.

Thanks for the compliment as well :)

Just look up "song name" Backing track, and there are thousands of websites that have the song your looking for without the guitar track.

Sadly though 1/4 of the time they dont have the vocals...

Thanks for the comment, Hoping to record some Panama tommarow, as I can actually play that solo well :)

I agree with some of the other comments...you have something that can't be taught : feel and timing. Good job man.
