Kramer just posted this on their Facebook page. I kinda like it. :thumbsup I think it would look better with an all black truss rod cover, but that is just my preference. Looks very nice to me.

Just thought I would post it for those without Facebook.

I find it odd that we (the Kramer diehards) know little to nothing about these new ventures nor did we even know about the VT200 coming back.

We're not their actual target.

maybe because kramer/gibson has the idea that there are just a bunch of tire kickers and people who are going to whine about anything they do no matter what. they arent building what people here think they should build to cater to what the kramer forum thinks they want......

just my opinion though......

I like it. If its a promotion for Pepsi it could really help get the name out there.

Let's say instead that Vintage Kramer and today Kramer are two different brands. Different guitars, different feelings, different mood, different way to relate to market and to players.
So, no surprise at all they are prefering other targets rather than old nostalgic Kramer krackheads.

All you have to do is 'friend' Kramer on Facebook to get the latest buzz. Like most guitar related stuff you will find the latest on Facebook before it ever makes to whoevers actual websites.

Who did the paint job?

It's a decal under the clear coat designed by Pepsi....150 of them throughout Germany, Scandanavia and Austria for contests, displays, etc..ads on the transit systems.
It's going to be a ton of visibility and a great partner. Should start seeing some of it out there by month's end. The promo is going on throughout summer.

Might be a decal but still looks great. Maybe a decal is a good idea for an optional finish on the budget to midrange guitars. Its cheaper to produce than a paint job and still looks good, the paint can be left for the high end market. Just a thought

Hi Guys / Girls

I have spoken to Kramer on facebook chat and I feel that they have the fans in mind now. The 84 reissue due out in June has a seymour duncan JB and an original floyd rose higher spec than the music yo ones and not as expensive. Every company moves on. The new charvels are fender, b.c.rich are made in different far east factories, Ibanes are made in the cort factory as well. I have a focus 1000 87 model and it's great but i'm excited for the new vintage reissue too. Add kramer on facebook they respond to questions.

Hi Rick and hello everyone

I'm new here so if I am not making sense or posting in the wrong discussion sorry. Yes Kramer told me on facebook chat in june they are releasing the vintage Reissue series that includes the stagemaster with emgs and floyd, the tigerstripe pacer classic and the 84 model with duncan humbucker coil tap and floyd all with original logos. I think this is because the pacer classic is the second biggest selling of the new kramers.
Rock on

Kevin beat me to it, had to be a decal when the edges were faded in ;)

Either way, Kramer/Gibson have to look at a wider demographic to make sales and to make sure they balance the books and make a profit and if that means releasing more info on FB then so be it.
As Vinny says 9and I have been guilty of it in the past) there are too many tyre kickers on here with too much negative shit to say.

They need to sell guitars pure and simple, as far as I'm concerned we are getting the Stagey back, and hell you can have EMG's from the factory.

So what if they are made in Korea, your beloved 80's Stageys were build in Japan not the US!!!
So the VT-200 never materialised shit happens, now we have the 'retta Special coming which is in fact an Improvement on VT because the body shape and headstock are the same as the 'retta, they weren't on the VT.

Looks great Kevin keep up the good work building the brand :thumbsup

Yeah, I hear ya. But imo Facebook is more than just dopey chit chat bs. The latest news in most anything seems to be there way before most anywhere else. I've noticed this with alot of my work related stuff and of course guitar stuff to. Almost makes me wonder why a company would even have a website anymore.

FB has turned into another form of media advertising, unfortunately.
Just another place for companies to sell their stuff.

Not to be rude, but most Nostalgic Kramer Krackheads don't buy much even when Kramer does reissue stuff.... its all talks of how the originals are better, etc... or the knobs are different ;)

I believe you got the curious response that you did because of this statement in your original post:

"The 84 reissue due out in June has a seymour duncan JB and an original floyd rose higher spec than the music yo ones..."

The MusicYO 1984's used the German made Original Floyd Rose, while the new reissue will use the Korean made OFR1000. The Korean model is IMO a very good unit, perhaps as good as the German version...but I don't think anyone would consider it "higher spec" than the original German version.

And most of the 84's wood parts were asian to start with were they not?

Only real difference I see in the new 84 is maple as a body wood and the Korean floyd. I can't recall if the tuners on the new ones will be schaller But I would guess not.

Paint jobs look cool though

I was referring to Vin's negativity when anytime someone asks about Gibson or whomever doing something custom. Kinda how everyone talks about it but doesn't want pay more than $200 for it blah blah blah. Or when someone asks if an axe is ALL original etc. No harm meant. Didn't know it was a sore spot. :thumbsup

It's okay, at least you don't have the goat fetish thing. ;)

IMO this is another step in the right direction. They gotta get interest sparked to the masses of players today, once they do that the gates will open again.
A lot is being done thats very positive and I for one applaud them for doing it, if they don't then Kramer dies. We'd all love to see the quality instrument we cherish with a good reputation again. Patience is a bitch.

I believe it's the return fully. They told me today that the 84 will be available in plain red too. The new Models and the reissues. yep. Charvel have done the same thing with the asian san dimas models under Fender. I think if you are over 30 these guitars have a special place in your heart. Choice is what's important. evolution but maintaining the root.

If you'll read up above, this is the Baretta Special, it's the entry level version of the Baretta. upper end models are in works.
