I've been collecting some stuff lately to capture a different sound....

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t44/geetar10/Photo001.jpg

Picked up an MP1 with MC1 earlier this year...good deal....recently scored an MP2 with the B200 Amp for the same price as the MP1...KILLER deal...just received the Classic 50/50 today at work (pics to follow)...what do I need guitar effects wise? The GMajor, Gsharp?? Saw the $1500 unit for $475 down here on CL, should I take the plunge? Need a 12 space rack too, if anyone has one? :whistle Prolly more to ship than what one's worth...

Looking forward to this...I'm thinking an A/B/C split if that's possible...Marshall 2205 into a cab, MP1 or 2 thru the 50/50 and the Mp1 or 2 thru the 100 Watt B200...the last 2 options will be true stereo (I think)...

Oh yeah, the guy I snagged the MP1 from, threw in the BBE 362...havent tried any of it yet. :)

Any thoughts, gear heads?? :toast

Can't remember what you said your usual rig is Ken, but if you've never rocked an ADA MP-1, you are in for a great time.

I have been playing through my MP-1 rack rig almost twice as much as my JCM800 rig lately. And yeah, run that MP-1 in stereo and you will be luvin it:headbang :headbang :headbang

As far as effects go, I love my Alesis Quadraverb and you can pick one up pretty cheap.

You not seeing the Midiverb4 in there Scooby ;)

Same reverb unit I have Ken, you'll love it I'm sure.

Is that Behringer Compressor under it?

Great setup by the way, the G Sharp is a great unit, but I'd have to as always suggest the GSP21, or 2101 :thumbsup

Good eye, Paul! :thumbsup

I used/use the Midiverb and the Behringer in my acoustic duo gig. Just enough to add a lil flavor.

What's the diff. between the GSP21 and the 2101? Are they both rack mountable?

Thanks, Paul! :toast

Both rack mount, the 2101 was sort of the big brother to the 21.

Have at look at this guys site, some info on both, and he's the guy that does the Legend upgrade chip that a few of us with a base GSP21 or GSP21 Pro have bought.
Both are rack mount, 21 is 1U 2101 is 2U

So guys, how does the MP-1 sound when connected DI to a mixer or recording console? How does it sound with headphones?

Looks like you have everything set to go Ken. The only thing I would add is a nice tuner.

Looks good!

Hey Bruce,

Don't know about the mixer DI thing, but I did plug up some head phones to my MP-1 once. I think the tone is MUCH better through the power amp and cab. I think it would be a waste to just run one through head phones. Could be just me, though:scratchhe

I hear the MP1's are tin tin tinnny to record with. The MP2's are a lot warmer, more options. much better DI recording quality...I'm hookin' 'er up as I type. :)

Nice setup , 2 things your gonna want to do if it didn't come with it is get a 7 pin midi cable to go from MP-1 to MC-1 so you can run phantom power to your pedal board very handy I got a 50' ProCo one now board can go where ever without running extra power wasn't too expensive 7 pin ends 5 line cable 3 lines for midi 2 for ph power. Next thing is I would check into new switches for the board itself board looks brand new but switches are 20 years old and the plastic is probably little brittle and the way they work is a thin pin pushes down on the contact had a bunch brake replaced them with same thing but new ones same thing happened changed to this type http://pedalpartsplus.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PPP&Product_Code=9001&Category_Code=SWI it's been fine ever since you'll need a good size washer for underside too and probably need to do new grounding wire for them I used some old cable TV cable just stripped out the core wire worked fine

If you get a chance, you can stop by http://www.adadepot.com/forum/ for your ADA info stuff.... As for effects, I am running a GT-8. I see alot of others running G-Majors and other misc stuff - up to you. Great rig so far. Look a lot like mine, minus the power amp. :toast

Not sure there bro, I'm scouring Craigslist for deals myself. I don't need new and I ain't paying through the nose for a rack case. I might even buy one of those dirt cheap chinese lookin ones off the bay.

Dude, concerning a rack, I made my own. Very easy to do if you have some woodworking skills. The rails and screws can be had at Guitar Center.

Hey Paul,

Ideally, I want some true stereo..that was my motivation for all of this. :help . Didnt plan on the ADA B200...got that and the MP2 for $250; no brainer there. :thumbsup

So, I may need another cab of some sort. Or a couple of 2X12's....it's wide open. Prolly split the 1960A and B with one of the ADA units.

I have a line on some ADA cabs....any thoughts anyone? Could snag 2 2X12's for cheap. So, I may need 3 or 4 more cabs! :D ;) Decisions...decisions...thanks for for the interest, Paul. :toast

I'll keep ya posted, bro.

Bluesman, just picked up this rack (Thanks AXE!) for $30 (PM'd ya). Just need a good guitar FX processor...and maybe a few more cabs....;)

Sturdy as a horse, inexpensive, and exactly what I was looking for, in a home based rig.

Now to hook 'er all up and figger out what i want to plug into what....:help ....:thumbsup

One more rack space and I'm done!

Thanks again, bro!

Mark,

If this is for home use only, this is what i snagged for $30.

Couldnt see spending $400 on an Anvil for something that wont be leaving the house. :thumbsup

This rack was my plan. $99.95 bin, looks pretty sturdy, and free shipping.

Anybody have any feedback on these cases? I won't be hauling it a lot but I do want something sturdy.

If your after a gsp21 then mine is for sale, works worldwide for power, all you need is a screwdriver to rotate a fuse holder. I upgraded it to a legend like most people on the site, pm if your interested, It would be what I paid for it from the bay though, which was still pretty cheap considering, no floorboard though.
