About 2 months ago my wife gave me a mustang

http://kramerforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30250

Today I get home and she has a new Gary Kramer Custom 2, waiting for me. Unbelievable guitar. It came set up perfectly, as far as im concerned. Very low action, neck perfectly straight, Floyd sitting on the body flush. I love this guitar. Unbelievable quality.

I believe each and every imported guitar is personally setup (not just inspected but really setup on the bench) by good folks at GKG. It's like having one of the greatest luthiers alive (Leo) be your personal guitar tech. These guys just don't want to hear a single complaint from their customers. Too bad their site is not terribly interactive so people could post their experience regarding GKG instruments they may own or have had opportunity to try out.

Tell us the secret, oh wise man - what the hell are you doing to her? :urock I mean it's exactly the opposite behaviour of what a wife usually does :D

You must lay it down good dude.

Freakin new car and a Kramer :urock

I think I'll get in line with everyone else when you start giving lessons, unless of course you have a manual we can read and study.

I love my GKG as well. Can't say enough about how great the customer service is. Laura Kramer is so cool too,she really hooked me up.

Ok here are some pics. They are the best I could do, I had to turn off the flash, it was just causing to much glare. Yeah Laura Kramer is really cool. I have spoke with her in the past and my wife says she was great to deal with. I'll definatly buy another one of the GKG guitars in the future

Believe it or not, the feel of this neck is VERY similar to the Epiphone Prophecy EM2 Custom FX. Now the GKG attention to detail and set up is much much better and the tone is better as, but the Epiphone is a great guitar for the money. And it comes with a real Floyd as well. The Epiphones just require alot of setup on your part out of the box.

Now I have to hate you and BamaKramer for getting one before me...
I wanted the black one but I think I have become smitten with the white one after looking at them both for a while now...
Glad to know it comes to you completely playable - that'll be a first for me if/when I get one. Nice axe!!

I would suggest that you get it directly from Gary Kramer. I dont know if the dealers try to change the set up or not. Probably not, but im just suggesting

I was always wondering if people would like to see their guitar in various stages of being built or set-up and shipped. Something to that effect..Like a birth of a baby. I trip on those pictures, the instrument taking shape. From a friggin plank of (ok, really nice) wood. Not the coffee table variety.

As far as dealers, I know a lot of people like to support local ma and pa store, which is sort of cool. But then, you can order direct, which could be considered a perk.

you will be happy with that one. as you stated, the quality of the GK import models is truely amazing. i think i need a crusader deluxe now...

Ok, I'll say it...

Those are the most drool worthy (one pick-up) guitars since the Nana Baretta.

I'm going five drools on these things:drool :drool :drool :drool :drool

:) Ok...and a headbang:headbang

Thanks everyone. My wife is a great girl. I played this guitar last night for about 2 hours and loved it. Before I stopped, just for kicks, I put in through the tuner. Still in perfect tune. Simply amazing.

Its nice to get a guitar and not have to spend anymore money on it for pickups or set up. If you are in the market for a guitar, get a GKG.

Those pickups are nice but still I had to switch them for something beefier, since I'm playing a bit more extreme metal which requires lots of output. But for regular heavy stuff they're just fine.

That guitar is really sweet. I might take up your offer that you made on my other post to buy the Deluxe Crusader first -- which I'm 99% sure I'm going to do -- and then this one. All for about the same price as the Charvel So Cal! Oh, and I'm going to buy them myself (unfortunately:) !

I really dont think you will be disappointed. I still love that Custom 2. I got a POD XT Live today, so I cant wait to get home tonight and mess with it and the Custom 2.

The Crusader Deluxe has got to be the next in the lineup for me.

Where is the import line made? And does it come to the US full assembled, or what? The new line looks gorgeous, but the only thing I can't really get is the Illusionist.

They're made in Korea in the same factory that makes Dean, Schecter and PRS SE, on the same line. They're great quality for the money, you'd never know they're imported if the sticker didn't say "made in Korea".

What about Illusionist? The Illusionist is just insanely beautiful and I'm eagerly waiting for my custom ordered one to be delivered (it was finally finished a few days ago).

Same factory as the PRS SE and Schecter? That is pretty good quality then. Hopefully people will love these guitars.

The Illusionist's embossed pickguard is a dealbreaker for me personally. Otherwise, everything about it is gorgeous. I would have liked to see a lower horn scoop and an ebony fretboard option.

Do these new Kramers come with wrench holders in the back of the headstocks, no, or is it totally random following tradition? :D

Yeah, I guess the pickguard is where the name "Illusionist" comes from - illusion of a pickguard, that is - it is kinda weird. I certainly wouldn't call it a deal-breaker, though, since the rest of the guitar is amazing. I'm still working the wife to try to get my own Custom 2, although I keep looking at the Crusader Deluxe pics and thinking "hmmm....".

Serge - can't wait to see the pics of yours, which I would post 10 seconds after I received it to make everyone drool, if it were mine. Is yours the "purple haze" color or something different?

:thumbsup

As was previously answered correctly, they are made in Korea. I suspect that they come fully assembled. Per Leo at GaryKramerGuitars, they are fully inspected and set-up by their Custom Shop Staff prior to shipping.

brokrguy, I posted the pics I got from Leo in my thread: http://www.kramerforum.com/forum/showpost.php?p=336932&postcount=63

I'll make some hi-res pics when it arrives, of course :)

Keen Anthony: that very pickguard-thingy was the reason I ordered it, I think that's the nicest design detail since decades.

OK, now that I have seen it, I have to say:

:drool Bbbbwwwwwwuuuuuhhhhh!!! :drool

Icy White or Cream, that is sweet and the vol knob/switch layout is awesome. Congrats, Serge! Can't wait to see some HR pics.

It's not cream, it's shiny pearl white with some red/green tones depending on light angle. The cam couldn't capture it right.
