Mine was equal to the cost of decent guitar.

:yikes WOW!!!!

I have a 2200 sq. ft. house on the lake. I almost $hit a brick last month when the power bill was $226! I usually keep the thermostat on 76-78 degrees.

$61.00. I also have a 2200 sq. ft house. Funny thing is my bill will sky rocket next month or the month after. Its amazing. Roughly the same amount of energy used every month yet the bills flucuate on a whim. I just don't get it.

$217. this month. I am on the budget plan that averages the yearly cost by month.

That being said, my heating, hot water and stove are all gas. :yikes
I am on the budget plan for gas as well which was $95. this month.

Add in the phone, catv, internet, cell phones, add another $300.

Now, take a look at the vehicle gas expense which will be $500 for the month. (4 drivers) :yikes

Yeah, that is a pretty good guitar getting burnt up each month...

:D

Well I can't bitch too much, mine averages between $75 and $125 per month. Wish I got a discount, I work for the damn utility but we get no breaks:-x

I think my electric was around $175 IIRC. Gas was about $95 or so. Don't ask about the gas in the winter though.:-x

I have an 1800 SF with all electric appliances and mine was about $120 and I keep it cool, about 69-71 degrees. (My wife hates it)

69 for electric and about the same for gas. The winter is when they really rape us. About 200 for electric and about 175 for gas. The funny thing is, the little nerd on the moped that is "reading" the meter is just full of crap. One, because of my attack dog trained to kill anyone carrying a guitar out of my house is outside, the dude can't even get in to read it. Same shit with the water guy, I opened the water box to look at the meter and it's so dirty, you can't even read it.

Guestimation I guess.

That's about the same for me on both counts; Laugh now, the crying comes later when the oil bill gets here.

$252 to run @ 2500 sq ft.

We are still paying off the woops bond holders
(The 4 or 5 nuke plants we were building about
25 years ago)
Our braniac legislature guaranteed the bonds and has passed it onto the rate payers.

We have the cheapest hydro-electric power in this state but between the nuck plant bail out and taxes we have some of the most expensive power costs in the country.

If the countryside and area wasn't so beautiful I would move out of the peoples republic of Washington.
Our governor has increased state spending by 33 percent in the last two years.
We have the best social services in the country.
So good we have people moving into the area to sign up.

Wow... I thought my power bill was bad... Until I saw what most of you are paying :yikes
Last month mine was 80 bucks for a 2700 square footer... This pretty much stays about the same all year.
Now the gas bill on the other hand... Ouch, at least in the winter... Which is almost the whole year here :arrg We average 200 a month on the gas...

Mine on average is $350 not happy with that at all. I get to pay for tenants water, and I have 2 little ones so I'm for ever finding things running I should not.

Californians started infesting Oregon and Washington in the early 90's. Good people came and as a result, drove up the housing costs. People would sell a 800 sq foot shack in cali for 400,000 and move to Oregon and Washington and buy an estate.

Phase II: The shitheads started coming. Criminals and deadbeats. Cali has a 3 strikes you're out law. Oregon and Washington do not. After two strikes, where do you think they go? Yep, Pacific Northwest. Now when shithead arrives with his babies moma and 3 little snotlickers, he is given free health insurance and foodstamps. The foodstamps now resemble just a credit card and they are used like a debit card at the store.

btw, crime and drugs have risen greatly. Gotta love it. Oh ya, BTW, they can also get free electricity since the treehuggers give extra money each month for the "less fortunate". :scratchhe

Is it true that they 'give' extra money, or is your gov't. 'taking' some extra tax?

Isn't socialism fun???? :scratchhe :scratchhe :scratchhe

Wait and see if the current Speaker of the House gets her way on imposing a 'windfall' tax on your retirement investments to further provide socialistic help for those "less fortunates". :banghead

I kinda thought a 'windfall' was ole uncle Bill happening to put you in his will before kicking the bucket.... I really can't in any way understand the idea of someone carefully investing their own money in retirement plans subsequently cashing out their 'windfall' that the gov't. now deserves a bigger cut from.

3,000+ Sq ft, 2 floors above the ground 12ft ceilings. Water heaters and dryer is gas, winter $180+ summer with AC $200+

When I first bought this house the moron that wired it kinda sorta but not really tied into the ground from the pole. My power bill was $480 for the first 2 months before I rewired the whole power panel and meter. I was told I had a (floating) ground so with nothing running the meter would still turn. Fixed that shit as soon as I could! Which in turn cut it in half.

My mom worked for the power company for 42 years so I learned a few things along the way. It's amazing just how much power some things use that you wouldn't really think make a big difference. Leaving the computer on, coffee maker left on, ect.

Not looking forward to our next electricity bill! Bloody Winter!!!

At our last place, Electricity used to be less than $100 per 3 months I think, but I think for stuff like the stove, water it was all gas.

Since we've moved to our current place, Electricity has been around $250 to even $500 per 3 months! I'm guessing with the usage of the Heater this winter (I blame mum & my brother as they use the heaters the most :D) it'll probably be around the $450 mark :yikes

Hold your breath Bro's in the USA.

£280.... up from £70 3 years ago.:yikes

I seriously think this country is going into a f*3king huge recession like nothing seen here before.

We have no manufacturing over here, no real industry to speak of and a bunch of people in power with their heads so far up their asses that they are so stupid they cannot see how they have buggered up the country.

Our Gas and electric bills ( they are combined ) are always $275.00 to $350 a month.. A/C set at 79.. three fans.. one ceiling fan.. central A/C unit only a few years old.. gas heater for house is old.. water heater only gas in summer.. but you would think at 79 on the A/C that I wouldn't have bills like that..??? we must be doing something wrong..???? we turn everything off when not in use..!!! I don't know what else to do..??? with the wife unemployed.. $300 a month is killing use money wise..!!!!!!

PM coming your way junior on how to save $$$$

EDIT: if we get a $175.00 to $200.00 monthly bill.. we feel like we have hit the lottery.. ( even though we don't play the lottery.. lol )

BTW: 3 bedroom.. have a basement.. ( I don't know how many SQ. feet ) but house is not that big.. trust me..!!!!

Anyone else think its a government conspiracy to extend Daylight savings time by one month on both ends in order to get longer work days, getting people to use more power, to have yet another reason to keep increasing energy rates? :)

This is what I do in my spare time.

No but I do think that people waste stupid amounts of electricity, eg leaving things on standy uses 70% of eneergy for a TV for example as it does when its on.

Heating in the summer! are you mad! if its cold, put a sweater on thats anothe reason the bills in the UK are so ridiculously high because the bloody poncy southerners havent heard of turning the central heating off when its a tad cold FFS

same with water, just because its not rained for a few days doesnt mean you need to water the grass overnight! what a waste of water, grass grows back very easily!

Air conditioning in your home! nice wish we had something like that over here at times :D

Mine was like 220 or something. But the month before it was 150, in the cooler times.

I think I have the first central ac unit ever made tho. I need to upgrade:)
