Check the graphic etched into the cavity plate, pretty cool!
There's 2 extra holes for straplocks as it was used as a righty guitar.
The pickups are a Super Distortion bridge and 59 in the neck.
The roller nut had some harassment but functions fine.
All in all it has some lack of maintenance and been collection dust (headstock was nasty!!) some pitting in the tuners and the strings were WAY dead.
It came with dark brown original case. One side was falling apart..just of age..all treads were torn and the tolex was stiff and such, but it works still.
Setup was dead easy on this bad boy it plays great and fast and I think it has to be reissued!
Last note: the maple body has aged very nicely over the years..vintage yellow, love it!
Oh..sounds great too..played some dokken on it;)

She looks great. I got a whitey that's a rightie and love the way it looks and sounds.
Interesting etching on the plate. Not sure what it is....:scratchhe
You trying to corner the market on lefties :D ?
Very Nice :thumbsup :thumbsup !

That's kinda cool on the cavity cover :thumbsup
The nice thing is that those are interchangeable with other lumie covers if you ever want to replace it, but i like it.
I bet that thing plays real nice. Low action on those necks if you set them up right. I absolutely love that body shape Remy. The color is great too. If that thing was a righty you never would had the chance to bid on it ;)

Very nice one. I still can't believe the 6000 you got last year from GC, the very one I touched and shit myself until I saw that it was built backwards. :D

Nice story behind this one...it was listed pretty steep, and I tried to backdoor it. The guy said fair enough, I'll lower the entry bid to that amount so you can bid....seldom action for a seller, my hats of to him; and then pow, I hit the lefty space Kline! Again the misses comes into play. I show her the picture, and normally she doesn't say ugly but this one she found ugly. I love it, but had to pass on it....bringin' in another one on such short notice which she thinks...well you get it ;) Got a mail from Remy a few days later, why didn't you bid on it dude! I had to snag it :headbang
At least I still get to play it :thumbsup And Remy, kick ass snag right there 5:drool er

I looked on the inside of the cover and scratched the paint....how the heck does it not have switches?

The guitar plays great, almost like an L5 neck in seize. I always feel the frets on those lumies are greatness, no rattles and never worn.
It is decent weight and well balanced, probably the reason for the strange body shape.
Thank you Mies for lowering the price. Kim thinks it's fugly, huh? Thank you Kim:)
It has nice rock and roll sounds on the middle position too btw. Jonhny B. Goode in overdrive sort off:-)
The switches are to split the pickups . THe 3-way switch is not really needed? with the volumes you can select full front, 50/50 and full neck? I guess your pickups can't be split that's all what you miss.
The speedknobs should be on indeed..not sure if I will these on it look vintage and have pretty cool vibe. I think I have some speedknobs lying I might try on it just to check what it does to me.
I must say the elctronics on these lumies are very sensitive to failure. I retain them as long as the spray does it works but the pots are pretty worn. I had to resolder 2 wires btw. It had a shortcut in there somewhere, maybe the reason he sold it were the elecs?
Anyway a great guitar for a good price in my opinion. Customs missed it mostly too:D had to pay 75$ (but only 52E) for the guitar, 1 complete Floyd, a part Floyd and 3 repaired pickups.

I love this guitar bro! I had to check it and look at it again. You rarely see a lefty model of the XL-5!:thumbsup

This is the first I laid eyes on. Quite a few 350B's and even 450G's I seen pass, but next is the XL-7 you been poking at us , Jeff:D
THe nekc is fine Vinnie, you are a sensitive person when it comes to necks V. No Nightswans for you either..what you like mostly-L2's?
Yep BBQ. It's an original , handmade St. Lucian coalpot. They have some sort of village there with Indians (Arowaks I think) and they make them after 17th century design. They work like a charm and you see them on the streets everywhere there. Ladies selling fried fish and chicken-SWEET!

Is that lumie sitting on the cement? What's wrong with you? Get that thing off the ground!
Awesome guitar!
I'm a lefty that was forced to play righty. Now I'm looking for some revenge and want to attempt to play lefty. I didn't even know lefty lumie's existed until I saw your collection on the VK site.

Thanks for the kind words guys.
Padja, good to see you back, I spoke to Peter recently so I am updated. I talk to you soon. We go Rotterdam soon.
Simpler, yes, there's quite o lot of lefties actually..you have to look for them offcourse but I know 450G, DMZ 1000, 650G and 6000G's...in basses..there's been about any model around. Good luck finding one-they are out there.
It's not on the concrete, it's resting-I won't hurt it, but truly I am not sure I can, the finish is solid.

05-29-2008, 03:34 AM
haha, I know, they are like the only band of name with an aluneck in their hitvideo. I like that song actually.
Not yet. I should try to play that stuff soon.
The guitar is still in hiding as the wife has no knowledge of it yet. When the time is there it appears unexpectedly:D

hahaha crazy man, like Kim is stupid. Women know these things..like she acts like she cannot identify one from the other (girlie voice: they all look alike...) unless you get another one....(girlie voice: did you change the potmeter knob from black to creme..or is this another of your guitars...)
I got me a new toy I can't hide..will take pics soon..it's green, it's a machine, it's 32yrs old and does not require roadtax...what can it be?

Woohoo!!:thumbsup You bought one of those? That's great, man!! I love those old Mercs with the matching wheels. You gotta bring that one to Rotterdam when you visit; we'll do some cruising here in Hillegersberg!
Great job!

Thanks Padja.
Most definately Padja. Cruising is what it is made for. Has the rare (and cheesey) big star on the radiator and a sunroof. smoke glas blinker lights in front (change them to orange soon) and a huge ass LPG tank:) . No costs, no tax, minumum insurance, just maintenance!
I love this car, hope it loves me too, more than the messed up Alfa...that's on Marktplaats..1 reply in 2 weeks..not good.
