Ibanez RG550 Reissue

I'm looking at getting one of the new RG550 Reissues. However, they don't seem to be in stock anywhere, at least no Yellow Or Red ones. Musiciansfriend states that they are "discontinued".

Don't they normally say "limited"for all the ads??? The ads I saw just stated "Ibanez RG550 Reissue. The Kramer 1985 Reissues aren't limited are they? Only 800 of each??? That's crazy.

It seems all other country links on the Ibanez site have the Liminted RG 550 Reissue ad. But the USA version of the site has it as the "RG Prestige RG550MXX",...Could the Limited mean that they only did so many with the matching Case, Strap, picks etc??? But the guitar will still be produced?

There were only 1987 of them made total and in 3 different colors. Desert yellow with maple fretboard, Road Flare Red w/ maple fretboard, and black with rosewood fretboard. You could check ebay to see if they have any. 899.99 was the street price for them brand new, anything lower than that would be considered a "good" deal.

That's real dissapointing they only made a handful of these. I mean come on, they use to mass produce those things in those colors!

I just listed a black w/ maple board RG550 from the late 80's earlier today on Ebay. I'm sure I'll end up regretting not keeping it.

Yea but that's the boring black one with the rosewood board.... nothing special, ibanez produces about a billion black rg's with rosewood boards a year.

They only made 1987 of all the RG550 reissues. My buddy has a red one - it's amazing, one of the best guitars I've ever played. But he still plays his stupid squier tele cause he likes EMG's more.

This guitar is probably the only Ibanez that I actually want. Unfortunately, I'm broke, and even if I weren't I doubt I could convince the woman that I need another guitar.
