First off, I originally came in here to do another "Louie Rants", and trust me, I love to make you guys think with those rants, even if you dont agree with me. And this rant will get alot of people going.

The latest "Louie Rants" will have to wait...

But... I'm going to have to let loose a little instead because I feel I need to act like I should be the forum's pitbull tonight... and you all know I'm not afraid to speak my mind.

What do you mostly see? A bunch of rock and roll guys. Hell, Mike will tell you I'm one of the most blatant rock and roll motherfuckers here. This forum is 99% male.

I must ask you this: Why, why in the hell are you guys shocked when some forum members start talking about women, posting some pics of chicks who are either nude or are half nude?

Who the fuck gives someone here the right to call someone else white trash because they bring up conversations most of us would have at a table at the Expo or in your living room?

I'm going to be blunt here, totally fucking blunt, and I've said this before to Mike, but we have some real fucking wussies here!

I'm not calling people that because they may not like half naked or fully naked women, but I'm calling you that because so many times I've seen some of you cry little a girl with a skinned knee.

I'm all for people on this forum speaking their mind, and I'm all for people discussing their differences... but dont you dare start to fucking pass judgement and start that name calling shit while singling out one certain member.

If a member attacks you blantantly, then by all means defend yourself. Hell, a few months ago even I set off a nuke under one member who was too fucking stupid to even read my entire thread before he started bitching and moaning.

If you dont like a topic of a thread after you open that particular thread, then leave the fucking thread and move on to another.

This is the fucking internet, this forum is a part of the internet. There's too many groups out there wanting to police the internet and tell you what you can view and cant view, what you can say and what you cant say.

I didn't shoot at the guy but I'll chime in here since me and Louie have had intellegent conversations in the past and have proven that we genuinely try to see each others points. Healthy relationship there.

I agree, the NSFW rule should be strictly adhered to, though I strongly believe it shouldn't be needed. I have to constantly look over my shoulder now because if my wife or son were to walk in the room they'd think I was looking at porn. Even though that's not the case. Also, my wife would take the stance of "Why do you have to look at them? Am I not good enough?" Of course she is and I can think of her when "Cherry Pie" is on the radio. But I wouldn't hurt her for anything and I wouldn't wish undue stress on the relationships of the members here, be they personal or business. Those who know me know that I am far from hen-pecked and seriously rock-n-roll so don't think otherwise. It's just that in my years on this earth I've been able to separate the Sex and Drugs from the Rock-n-Roll. And I personally like it that way. Rock is more personal and focused and more fun than ever now. Up until late, this forum seemed to have been able to make that separation as well. Maybe it's sliding back to a more infantile state? Who knows. I just liked the freedom of anyone of any belief being able to open any Kramer thread anywhere. But when we have to "grade" our threads by placing NSFW in the title......we lost some of that family-ness that has meant so much to me here. Also, even if I did want to see hot women busting out of their clothes on the net I'm sure I would have gone elsewhere to find it done a little better. Instead, I retire to here, where the conversation is a little better, the friends are still friends no matter what and not just until the monthly subscription runs out and the "all-access" password is changed. This forum is sooooo much more. Above all of that pety garbage. That's why the Expo's are a family setting....so everyone can enjoy the fun that we know as Kramer.
Another thought. A lot of us here were heavy smokers and drinkers back in our rock and roll party days. I can relate as an offender as well. Then I realized that the alcohol and cigarettes, though very much a part of the overall rock-n-roll picture, was detrimental and causing damage. I personally took another step and realizied that the way the hotties dressed and acted...for us guys.....was detrimental to the image of a top notch female. When I put those things aside I noticed that my appreciation for women jumped greatly. They weren't play toys anymore. A virtuous woman of character is SERIOUSLY rock-n-roll to me....and makes me want to whip out a Kramer :thumbsup
I learned to appreciate alcohol in small quantities. I like it fully matured, as it gains more pleasing qualities that way. A young, mature thinking woman who would not allow herself to be photographed in a compromising manner and displayed in a internet guitar forum is much more interesting to me. I married one and don't want anything else. Give me a forum with those properties too. I'll drink to that. :toast

This view will probably be unpopular but I think you'll all agree that I took no shots at anyone, nor even aimed the gun at anyone. I just wanted to give another view to ponder.

Let's keep in mind that everybody likes different things. a pretty face does it for some, a nice bottom others, and big fat chicks for a few. There are plenty of vids and mags out there that specialize. Brown nosing? No. There's no brown nosing with me. If you're reffering to a friendship I have with an admin outside of this forum, then that's really weak man.

It comes down to a matter of opinion and I do feel that this is a family forum. Compare us to the JCF, Jemsite, ESP Forum, and you will see how much more mature and intelligent we are. This is part of the draw to the KF for me personally. Any time I visit the JCF, I see members slamming each other, and over the most inane topics, like "Children of Bodom does NOT suck." Who cares? We are here to talk about the guitars we love. Let's keep the mature flavor of this community going and not let it get run down with things that offend people, their families, or bosses.

Pat I can totally see where you're coming from. but keep in mind that sometimes a thread can take a turn into a different direction.

We all, including myself, should just use the best judgement we can. If you see a "Louie Rants", you might know it's probably something not to view at work or in front of sensitive readers... but I can only speak for myself there. But you see what I mean, we just judge the best we can before viewing something.

It's always a double edged sword, and it's just something we've all got to deal with.

I just had a thought Pat. I don't think it'll work. The seasoned people might adhere to it but the newer folks or the 2-300 posts or less people that feel "seasoned" on the forum (that's a generalized statement not pointed at anyone, but you get my drift) but never cared to read the rule that would state this, will still violate it. I hate to say it but we might be at the point of having to have forum moderators in addition to the admins who are already stretched too thin. I thought at one time this forum was above this.
Maybe some of us "Been around for awhile and visit several times a day members" can help? That's if admins make policy for it. I'll volunteer to help should they decide to go that way.

Our internet policy states that you can use it during a break or on lunch....as long as it's safe. Being on this forum is a safe site, but it's rather embarrasing using the net in an open room, pulling up a thread with no indication anything is suggestive, and finding some stupid fucking cow hoe, or some underage girl. That is simple and plain bullshit. "NSFW" slogan doesn't work? How about "Nasty Hoe" or "Underage Abused Child"

Since we have Icons for thumbs up/down, smile, cool, question, unhappy and even an arrow, perhaps an the first and most prominent Icon listed should be of some sort cautioning adult (not pornographic) content:an eyeball or something, "18+", "Adult", a caution symbol, or something else creative minds can come up with.

While 'adult' content neither interests me or for that matter repulses me, there is no reason any member should be put in the position of being suprised by an inappropriate picture or such popping up. It is simply common courtesy.

I think that the attitude "if you're at work keep out of the Forum" is rather short sighted. My lunch hour at work, and my break times, are the only times (for the most part) that I have time to be on this site: The rest of the time I'm too busy with 2 kids, 2 jobs, and playing guitar.
