You push the white thingy back on the metal thingy.

make sure you put it back on the same way it came off. it will look like it can turn either way, but if you put it on backwards YOU WILL FREEZE TIME FOREVER. Be careful :-x

If that doesn't work, Krazy Glue!

i guess you could friction mount it with a dicfer (if you have one)

the metal thingy on the pick up selector
Isn't that technically referred to as the "switch-shaft" :scratchhe
I've heard of using dicfer on the potshaft, but would it really work on the switchshaft? :notworthy
That was happening to me on my recently acquired deluxe. I went to the hardware store and asked the guy for a dicfer to fix it with. He didn't know what it was, so I ended up putting a small, thin piece of electrical tape over the selector shaft then pushed the selector knob thingy on over that. ;)

Yeah, a little Krazy glue on the dicfer to the switchshaft should do it!

well, one has to consider that switchshaft configurations are far less compatable with the dicfer approach to correct the problem. I think everyone would agree that application of a dicfer treatment to a potshaft with this issue would be the way to proceed.
I remember reading about a dude who had a special dicfer and he said he was getting good results with switchshaft profiles and dicfer remedies.

I'm telling you guys, really, all ya need is a little Krazy Glue on the dicfer...
Why make it more complicated than it already is?
Geez!

I dunno Bruce, What RSB said about the potshaft may make gluin down the dicfer a complication rather than a fix. Are you sure?

He mistakenly said potshaft. He ment switchshaft. Big difference.

No kiddin?!? I think I need to 'bone' up on the whole theory side of this. What IS the difference? I always thought well, I don't wanna feel stupid so I won't say. Maybe you could just summarize, eh?

Could also be fixed with a flam shooter if you can find one.
They're hard to find though.

This is too far outta my league KG. I mean I know my share on dicfers but this is getting too complicated. :scratchhe
Bruce, any final thoughts from you?

BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep. The 6 jiggawatt rectofire was also known as a Flam Shooter.
But then again..... I've been drinkning cold Newcastles all night and I could have it mistaken with the left handed monkey wrench.

You get that Krazy Glue near your POT SHAFT and you'll be up the dicfer without a paddle. The proper way to repair any thingy is to locate and measure the cross-longitudinal transvertance of the rectumfinder. Use a ambidexterous probe set at 14.8 OMG's. If it is slightly out of whack we're talkin' dicfer soup so get it right the first time. Also, when placing the plastic thingy back on the metal thingy (after proper CLT testing and alignment of course...DUH!) is to rotate the guitar...NOT the plastic thingy. If that means that you have to walk around the table 12 times....well, do it.
If you don't have a rectumfinder, call Radio Shack. They loan them out with a smal deposit. Be sure to ask them for the free rectumfinder instruction sheet.
Good Luck,
Chris

Danial, I think Sumr cleared it up nicely. He has a way with words that gets it across.
And Chris, my man, you did it without an anology!! You were workin' on that over the summer IIRC :scratchhe :urock

When I get into that technical mindset...jokes are the furthest from my mind. Radio Shack is sooooo helpful.
Analogy, Schmalogy. K-Borg blood runs in my veins at 140 beats per minute. This young guy needs to be playing. After that quick call....he'll be shredding again.
