Hey guys,
So which company do you think has the coolest guitars (or the ones that you'd be most after) after Kramer? The options are Jackson, Charvel, Dean, Gibson, Schecter, Fender, Ibanez, Paul Reed Smith and Ernie Ball Musicman

I voted Dean btw- some of those guitars are Sexy! :drool :headbang

Way too many choices, and I noticed there's no Carvin, Daion, Driskill, or ESP on that list.
I voted Charvel, though I should have voted Music Man. The Axis is my work horse, my go to guitar, and next to my Daion it's the best tone guitar I own. Though lately when i'm playing with my band I've been using my HM Strat and a couple of my Kramers.
I have to vote Gibson, particularly the Les Paul. I have a '78 Standard, and it plays just like my Focus 2000. I know it is crazy to say a $2000 guitar plays like a $500ish (originally) guitar, but I guess that says alot for the Kramer's!!

Here's a 89 blue one (http://cgi.ebay.com/VERY-RARE-Mid-Blue-Black-4003-Rickenbacker-BASS-AAA_W0QQitemZ230056044941QQihZ013QQcategoryZ4713QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) that's cool. Just don't even attempt to read all the text, the guys out to rewrite War & Peace I think. :D Geez all those pics and the guy can't get one single shot of the whole guitar. :bong

I voted Gibson. I never thought I would have passed up on some of those others for a Gibson but after my last purchase I have changed my mind about some of the odd ball Gibsons out there.
My FF Red LP Custom Lite w/Floyd. It looks burgandy without the light on it. Red from an angle and champaign pink straight on with the flash.

I voted Charvel because it was the 1st guitar I got the "wow" feeling from when I played it. It was nothing special - an early 90's Fusion Custom, but it had a superb yellow and black crackle finish! I should have bought it but never did.
However, if I had to recommend a new guitar with a superb quality of finish and playability beyond any other (and yes, that includes my Gibson LP) I'd say go for a Brian Moore i2000 series guitar. There's both strat and LP shapes and the custom fretboard inlay of the planets is to die for (at a retail of $5000!!!). Check out...

for the basic i2000 floyd model.

I love ESP's offerings, though I must confess their Japan-only catalog rings my bell more than most of their American stuff. Still, I found a place in Belgium last week where I could pick up a Horizon-1--basically a Stagemaster Custom 1 by any other name.
On the more boutique level, Suhr and James Tyler are the American-made axes I'd lust after the most.
Suhr is on the verge of releasing a new production model of Reb Beach's signature model. It's a beaut. Here's the link.

Love James' Tyler's Burning Water axes, too. Here's one at a shop in Denver:

If you're talking craftsmanship, originality and sweet lookin guits then
1) PRS
2) BC RICH

1) Gibson (LP, Explorer, Firebird)
2) Ibanez (JS, S, SA)

I voted Charvel but it's more like Charvel/Jackson with a lean toward Charvel. My Jacksons were perfect right out of the box. And I love the J/C necks :thumbsup

In the acoustic department, I'd probably say Adamas is my fav. In the hybrid department, that Taylor T5 is a tone beast!
If I were to pick other guitar brands I'd probably go with Jackson, Carvin, BC Rich, and the Ibanez Prestige series. I think the Petrucci 7 with a piezo is neat. If I had to go with a non-floyd guitar, probably a LP.
In the bass dept......anything goes from the custom luthiers!

My favorite non-Kramer brand would have to be Jackson. This year they made my dream guitar finally called the DK2M. Here is a pic of my Jackson below...all factory original. ;) Too bad Kramer could never have done a mapleboard bound claw inlay pointy neck. That would be :drool :drool :drool

looking at the poll results..
I would pretty much be in agreement if you look at my guitar collection..
The question I have is why we dont rank Ibanez up there as high..
My first guitar was an Ibanez Destroyer2 (80's) and ..I loved it ..wish I had it!
I think we would all agree that there are some mean Ibanez stuff out there..
so why dont I ever buy Ibanez? so why dont you ever buy Ibanez? why dont we rank Ibanez higher??

Ibanez are a fantastic guitar but to be honest the new models suck ass if you ask me, they made their best models before 1992, and once their LA Custom shop closed down everything became sh*t. If they re-issued the RG550 and in its original colours I would buy one.

I voted ibanezīs because these were the first guitars that i went crazy about (before i even knew about kramers, of course) and specially the RG, but i gotta say that ainīt nothinīlike a good olīLes Paul Custom, If itīs the Zakk Wylde model, better. i recently recorded with an LP studio, and i totally loved it, incredible tone. But when got my baretta iii 2 weeks ago i liked it even more!.
I strongly recommend the Godin guitars, theyīre amazing, incredible tone and craftmanship, and the BEST sounding nylon (acoustic) guitars iīve played!!!

Do You own that?! if you do, how does she play?
The Collen Archtops in the 80's had the 1 pickup, in the 90's it was 1 humbucker, 1 singlecoil.
If you have the Historia/in the round in your face on video/dvd, he uses the 1 hum archtop on Gods Of war, Armageddon it Live and uses it on Live Bites Clip.

hows the dean caddy play?
Mine is an 81 I bought new from a local shop...It listed for $1800 so I never thought I'd own one back then. They had a liquidation auction around 84-85 and sold mostly everything in the store but this was hidden in a corner. I picked it up and the low E string was buzzing at the nut so I bartered with the owner and got it for a song...
I quickly fixed the nut. The rest was new and perfect.
The neck is the classic Dean V neck with ebony & jumbo frets. It is just amazing!@ :drool
Nothing else like it!!!
It also came with the Dimarzio Super Distortions which also kick ass. :guns

I'm not real picky. I'll take Jacksons, Gibsons, Fenders, PRS's, Ibanezes, ESP's, . . . whatever. I wouldn't pay new guitar price for most Gibsons and a lot of Fenders.
I think I'd have to go with the U.S. made Hamers, too. Maybe it's because I passed up one I really liked almost 20 yrs ago and have been trying to fill a void ever since. If I ever find the right one when I have some money, it will be mine.
