So i was thinking after browsing through the "new kramer advertising girls thread" we should have a lil online comp to design a new kramer and post it up here, it'll be interesting to see some of your ideas so i can nick em and use em to make real guitars jk lol

Here are 2 shots of the same guitar. I did this on a virtual guitar builder website:

Since this site doesn't have a Kramer type design, the Jackson was closest besides Fender, and I wanted to get away from that. I may do a strat-type one later. This is a bit scary, but I did have to superimpose one of Tommyguitars blueburst heastocks onto one image. The original has a Jackson logo and headstock shape......Hope this works and you don't disqualify.

Basically going for the Later Baretta/Focus lines.
I would love to see Kramer focus on a complete custom options type approach as Carvin does. This way we can choose colors/graphics, headstock shape and direction. Pickup config, etc. etc.

EDIT: Oh and those are Sambora set ups with 3 coil taps and a switch to put you back up to the bridge pickup automatically

Printscreen button on keyboard, open paint, hold down the SHIFT button and press Insert to "paste" the image into paint. THen select the area to keep, and cut and paste into new paint window. done

I used a program called Visio. It's a drafting program that's kind of like a seriously junior version AutoCad. Much less complicated. Did a serious amount of cutting and pasting...it wasn't pretty! The bannana headstock is actually a trace of a baretta headstock from VintageKramer.com. :thumbsup

Basically I did the print screen thing from that Kisekae site and then opened it in photo editor and cut just the pickup out and pasted it into Visio. Visio lets me rotate objects by hand or by degree. Good program...I've been using it for years to do cabling plan as-builts.

thats cool- you should try a strat style guitar with all slanted pickups like in either a HH, HSH or HSS form. I think thatd be pretty bitchin, especially cuz slant pickups look awesome

I think Kramer should make a firebird shaped guitar ala the Jackson firebirds. I think that would work great as a new model considering Kramer is owned by Gibson who has the design patented (or trademarked :scratchhe ) They could release them as stop tailpieces, floyds, 1 humbucker 2 hums- i think thatd be pretty neat

I played on an Epiphone Firebird the other day at a guitar store. It had the Steinberger gearless tuners, and I gotta say - I think I like those tuners a lot. They were very accurate and precise, as opposed to Gotohs or whatever. Plus they don't stick out from the side of the headstock, but they do from the back a little.

I think I went with the Explorer style because quite a few people were posting about "pointy" guitars around the time I started on it. The biggest problem with this is trying to find a decent graphic. I am by far NOT a graphic artist...I'm just putzing around with this. I'm definitely enjoying this thread...although it's making me wish I had a whole hell of a lot more money! I sure would like to see some of these paint jobs for real! :drool

As far as the Iwo monument and anything from 9/11 (or most war stuff, in general), I get TOTALLY choked up every time I see stuff like that. :-x

As a matter of fact, my wife tends to leave me alone quite a bit on Memorial Day because I watch The Sands of Iwo Jima and Saving Private Ryan and she knows I don't like to get teared up around her. :D I'm a total sap when it comes to that stuff! :guns

You get a definite A+ :thumbsup for these my Aussie friend! I for one would LOVE to see all of these offered by 'Yo. I really wish they would knock off a couple of Kramer Teles real quick...at this point I'd settle for the Classic without the FR (I don't expect miracles) 'cuz I really want a tele-style right now. I'm also a sucker for a good Gibson knockoff with a Floyd. Although, I still think the Kramer LPs should have nanna headstocks...call me crazy! :eviltongu

I didnt read the rules sorry if that disqualifies me :-x - i used the body of a Proaxe in my design and borrowed the neck from a jem to illistrate fancy fret work. I then put the headstock from a proaxe on there as well to finish it off. I love the look of the proaxe and feel it represnts both an inovative design combined with awesome playabilty - i can realy imagine it in the hands of Vai or Gilbert etc . . . I love the 80's coloured guitars hense the green. Anyways im glad u liked it - i used photoshop to edit it - the body was orriginaly a blue one borrowed from a pic a forum bro posted :thumbsup - All the best

I didnt use an online creator, I used Windows Paint and photos of my guitar I took myself to create a composite made of around 40 or so separate pics, my guitar's shape is "yoo neek" ;) Heck, I might contract out to get my guitar built and go terrorize my neighborhood :D

Ok so the idea behind this was a little fun, it never said you cant use a generator, i said that people who put more effort in i.e. those who use different guitar parts and edit them together in paint stand a better chance of winning, i think ill count round one as a practice round and we'll start the running again ?

but this time you really do have until the day before haloween to get your entries in, so long as i know which one you want to count as your final submission, feel free to design as many as you want.

The only rule for SUBMISSIONS is that it cant be an existing guitar with kramer logo slapped on it

Not being a graphic artist - I'd like to be able to use the generators and modify them if possible. Pretty much all of my entries had modifications done on existing styles (hell, I drew a Triax from scratch - and nobody even noticed it - I AM SOOO HURT!!! :eviltongu ) and I really enjoyed it. I'm in, but I don't want to have to come up with new shapes! Although I could probably go pretty crazy. ;)
