Check it out! (http://www.allpar.com/cars/dodge/challenger.html) It reminds me of my ol' 70 Cuda.

:drool That thing is TOUGH lookin'..

I also heard through the grapevine that Chevy will be coming out with a new Camaro... That is supposed to look like the old 67-69 body style..

If they come out with that, I'll have to sell the kids... :-x

Oh wait.. I don't have any kids... I guess I need to get busy so I'll have some kids to sell when the time comes... :D

Sorry bro, but you're thinking of a Charger. And unfortunately the new Chargers are NO where near as cool as this Challenger. I really need to get one of these when they come out.

Too bad Dodge didnt stick with the concept design of the Charger several years ago, it looked tougher than even this new Challenger!

I like those as well. Probably take a few shiny nickles to get one of those though.

I had my paper route (@12 yrs old) when those Challengers and Roadrunners and Super Bee's and Barracuda's were burning up the road. I do mean burning up the road to. Those Mopars were fast as hell back then.

I was always a Chevy guy. 50's and 60's chevy's anyway. I had tunnel vision for the longest time.

Now I'm into Thunderbirds 1959 and 1966.

I hotrod to work in a Mitsubishi 3000GT now days.
I know I sold out but after I sold my POS Vette I wanted something low maintenance.

That car is so friggin' awesome. They will make bank on that thing. Chevy will have to do a retro Camaro then.
I was pissed when the Charger became a 4 door :eviltongu

:drool Holy Cow..

Looks alot like a Vette though.. Even so, that thing is rockin'... I'm betting the cost must have been too high, or something like that because that car would have sold like hotcakes if it were at least semi-affordable.

Sweet.. :drool

Bruce! Where did you find that? Believe it or not that's not the proto Charger I was refering to. I've never seen that one before.

The proto Charger I saw was designed with the 68 & 69 Charger in mind. It was 2 doors, and the grill was heavily ingluenced by the 69 Charger grill. And the back window was recessed like that one, if not a tad bit more.

And for those wondering, yes, Chevy plans to re-introduce the Camaro. And yes, it is designed with the 67, 68, and 69 body style in mind.

Looks like the auto makers are finally listening to the buying public after all! I was never really a Chevy guy, but the Camaros & the mid to late 50's Chevys will always have a place in my heart.

I think Chevy has already done a concept for the retro Camaro. Those import guys can't do that. Who would want a retro 70's Toyota Celica. :D

There IS a new camaro coming out, scheduled for 2008 but it is BUTT ugly and looks NOTHING like a camaro. Chevy/GM just keeps dropping the ball on re-issues. Like their GTO :-x , yeah. Ugh. I saw a preview of it in Hot Rod magazine last month and its just :-x what are they thinking?

see for yourself.

The Dodge retro's all look great. The Ford retros (mustang) look great. GM just can't get their shite together.

I had a '70 Challenger R/T , black , 383 slapstick in my youth that I still miss. I'll be one of the first in line when they come out in '07 or '08. Hemi of course. Can't wait!!

The Camaro concept is pretty cool. I'm not totally sold on the front end though.
Did anyone else see the sketch that HodRod Mag did a couple of months ago of a Trans Am based on that same concept? I couldn't find a pic to post, but that is a car Detroit needs to build. Looks ALOT like a '77-78 T/A. :thumbsup

Hmm, I don't know there... Looks pretty damn good to me, and as far as keeping with the 67-69 theme I think they did a pretty good job. :thumbsup

Maybe they'll grow on me after I see a few up close and personal. I know that I hated when the 'new' dodge trucks rolled off the line back in '93ish.

All those cars look great guys but you'd have one hell of a problem parking most of them in the UK/Europe :D
I'll up a photo of whats been taking up my time (& money) lately. :thumbsup

Before I ever spent $20,000+ on one of those ugly things, I'd just buy an original. These companies today really need to come out with some original thoughts......making cars resemble one of yesteryear.....remaking who-knows-how many movies....remaking songs.....reissue and replica guitars.......Does no one have any originality these days? Must we profit from the robbed ideas of others?

I know Pat K would be a little interested in Paul's latest acquisition ;) I love Mustangs & Chargers but I'll stick with BMW for the near future, if I had the pennies though there'd be a muscle car too in the drive for weekends.

The Challenger is cool, if thats a prototype though, what is the production one gonna look like? The picture of the Charger posted is pretty cool, but the New Chargers cruisin the street look like Chrysler 300's....4 doors!!! :-x :scratchhe
Even the new GTO.....it looks like a Grand Prix!!! WTF, they stoped making the Gran Prix so they used all the left over parts, dropped a V8 and stuck a GTO emblem on it...all these new retro cars could be so much cooler. So far it seems like Ford has done the best with the new Mustang, some of them are pretty cool.

Actually the new GTO is an Aussy sedan that they brought over to the US and badged as a GTO :-x

I'm Irish....So lets just say one word. Corvette!!!! I'm driving my second one now(toy) And I'll allways have one in the garage. The current incarnation is the last year of the c4, '96, Which is the last of the bumpy rumbly beastly unrefined of old with with a good old pushrod LT-1 v8 and a few computer mods. Only drawback....Optispark. Oh well, Havn't replaced it yet...... :-x

That is HOT!!! That would totally own to get one of those... but then again, with gas prices like they are :scratchhe

idk about the rims.. they could have gone with a more oldschool approach, but the car is :drool to the max

Actually I think the GTO platform is finished after this year. Due to lack of popularity. Apparently folks just aren't willing to pay high prices for something that looks like a rental car even if it is fast. ;)

Yep, the GTO was based on the Aussie's Holden Monaro, and while a little mundane looking, I've never seen a factory fresh car that wasn't. That's where the aftermarket comes in. Anyhoo, its being discontinued after this year, and thats a real shame, it was in my opinion a comfortable car, and pretty darn fast in its stock form. Holden has quite a few nifty looking rides, I wish they would import them here. I kind of dig the 4 door Charger, but then, I've never been hung up on the number of doors a vehichle has, I dig everything from 3 door hatchbacks to wagons and vans, which explains why I really dig the Magnum.
I saw the sketch of the Trans Am based on the Camaro concept. GM needs to build one of those, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. :thumbsup
