Carvin makes a great guitar. The quality of them is just as high of any high end jackson or ibanez, if not better. It's too bad their more of a private company that doesn't let stores endorce them

Yeah man, SWEEEEEEEEEETTT!!! :thumbsup I am also very frustrated with the ever so keen 'one week' arrival scam. Whats up with that Gibson? :scratchhe I have been looking at the Carvin Contour 66. :) Guess I'll see what happens.
Thanks guys!! I have a Bolt+C in Swamp Ash as well.. It weighs over 10lbs.. This one is under 7

I have always admired the company. The basses aren't exactly my cup of tea any more, but mostly due to my own personal prefs.
What do you think of the pickups? I think I might order one some day with a fixed piezo bridge.

That is one of the nicest Carvins that I have seen.

That is a gorgeous guitar...I like Carvins alot. Does anybody know what kind of Carvin that blue one that Jason Becker used to play? That thing was kickass!!
(Don't want to hi-jack the thread)
Thanks guys :headbang
The Floyd is rock solid.. But it doesn't perfectly match the 14" fretboard radius.. This instrument is seriously growing on me ;)

I've always thought that Carvin was the best quality vs. $$$ available. Never owned one but they look awesome. Plus USA made! :thumbsup

So then would you need to shim the outer saddles?
very nice :headbang
Wow... I was just on there site and these geetars seem really reasonably priced for a custom guitar :toast
If I only had $$$$$$ sigh
So then would you need to shim the outer saddles?
Actually the D & G strings could use slight shimming.. I'm more put off by the 3 mini switches actually.. One switch operates each individual pickup On/Off..
I plan to move the neck pup to the bridge switch and rewire the abandoned front mini switch to coil tap the C22B humbucker

Cool axe! :thumbsup
I owned the DC120 and 127 before and loved them both. I still have one of their necks (the old version, more pointy with ebony headstock) on a Strat body - lovely!

Oh and strangely you'll rarely see any Carvins on Ebay, seems they're keepers for most people.
This the first 25" scale 24 fret instrument I've ever played. I'm not the littlest fella you'll meet so finger placement when playing up the neck must be precise.. I think I prefer the 25.5/22 fret feel of my Bolt+C

Thus they offer you to return the guitar within one month if you shouldn't like it. That's a fair deal, no hassle either.
Actually, Carvin's Trial & Return period is only 10 days..I've always felt that was a little short..The honeymoon usually lasts longer than that ;)

Oh. It used to be a month before, but I haven't followed that in the last few years. Well, 10 days should suffice as well to briefly test it and see if you like it or not...

I see them on eBay all the time...there's probably 30 on right now. In relation to other brands that isn't many but their build numbers don't match other brands either.
I hear a few raves about one of the amps that they make right now...and I've always seen people review their gear favourably.

I'd always been very interested in their axes, seemed that you could get a lot of guitar for the $ and they have a good look too. The tech shop is great- just about anyone that answers the can walk you through any wiring schematic out there. Their Pup's are underrated and the M22 in my striper actually gets more low end balls and thickness the higher the vol pot is turned up- tapering it back actually boosts the mids and middle highs. Very very high gain hummer. Only problem I had when trying to work out a deal with them about 4 years ago was they kinda pushed back on my insistance that I go with a FR. They are real proud of their locking tuner/Carvin-Wilkinson trem setup and the guy I was working with almost made it seem like I was asking for mustard on ice cream....
I bet they're very playable axes.
Don't let anyone tell you that the tuning stability is the same with a Flyd w/Locking nut vs a Wilky and Sperzel lockers.. It simply isn't true.. The Floyd w/LN is much more stable.. Any honest Carvin owner will tell you as much..
Its funny, I have a C22B pickup in Both of my Carvins. It is OUTSTANDING in my Ash bodied Bolt+C.. But kinda Slurry in my neck tru DC135.. Go figure :scratchhe

Well I won't, I don't see any difference at all. Maybe you had a badly done nut, otherwise I dunno how to explain that.
Other than that, it's much more convenient than fiddling around with a nut clamp, let alone that it's no longer in the way. Much, much more comfortable.

Nice looking axe, I have looked at ordering a Carvin guitar for many years. I bought the 4 x 10 half stack 50 watt all tube amp about 6 years ago and use it every weekend at the gig. I keep going back to it even when I buy something new. It just sounds killer. Maybe I'll have to get a Carvin guitar to match now!! ;)
