Be patient Danielsan.
These things take some time and there's only a couple people here that even have one. It might be some time before they even see this thread. Relax.
Trust me everyone that has one says it has great tone and is a good guitar.
By the way, on another thread Mike said the bridge pickup on the Jersey Star basically the same pickup as what's in my 1984, so they might be similar when using the bridge. But the JS would have tons more tone options, with the 3 pickups.
Get the nice guitar. Be happy . Get some sleep. :thumbsup

It doesnt, theres a small TINY blemmish on the guitar, like maybe a paint chip, probably around the pickup cavity. Dont worry about it itll still play GREAT!!

Daniel, we got it. You want to hear a JS. There aren't any JS players in this section yet. I would keep asking in the YO section were a JS player might read it.
Your cries are falling on deaf ears here dude!
We have had an ample sufficiency, any more would be superfulous.
:D

i'm sorry, i dident know people on these fourms only look in one section, is their a way a mod could move it in the music yo section?
bkeen
06-11-2006, 08:38 PM
Yeah, they could but why don't you just put a new post in the yo section titled the same as this and start fresh!
As long as you don't post here it will find it's way to the bottom of the list and all is well...

someone has video of "that 80s hair band" playing whitesnake on the jersey stars. I think Mike had it uploaded to VK last year during the Kramer Kon to make us all drool.

I think Mike had it uploaded to VK last year during the Kramer Kon to make us all drool.
Your best bet is probably to post a new thread in the music yo section asking to hear it, where people that have them might see it. And let this thread die.

Mike took the videos down soon after putting them up because of bandwidth.
Done!

Dude, don't take this the wrong way, but geezus, you're almost going into forum troll mode? Believe me, if someone had a clip, they would have provided it by now.
Buy the guitar, if you don't like it, resell it or send it back to Musicyo. I'm sorry to sound harsh, but good lord dude, shat or get off the pot concerning buying the geetar. :)
All the best.

06-12-2006, 05:07 PM
You're not bothering me, but your posts are coming off agressive because we don't have recordings or video of the guitar being used. Its not brain surgery, buy the guitar. If you don't like it, resell it. Look for a used one on ebay, dig around.
I don't know what else you want from all of us. I'm not trying to be a dick, but your posts are coming off like you're pissed that you're not getting the answers you want here on a specific guitar. We've given you all the data and information we know at this point.
Its a great guitar, we would tell if it was a turd, either buy it, or don't buy it. Thats all I'm saying.
So one more time, for the record:
1. Scratch and Dents are barely scratch and dents if you can find a blemish at all in the first place
2. They sound better than the original RS's, in the opinions of many on this board.
3. No one has a recording to share with you currently, nor would a recording really give you an idea of the guitar. YOu have to try it through your own rig, your own setup, with your fingers. All we can do is give you an idea if it has worked out for us or not.
4. Go to the Kramer Expo in August if you would like to try one out and hang with some Kramer brethren.
That is all....
Mike

If you can find the old "Bad Medicine" video you'll hear one. I mean they're identical in every way.
And yes everyone on this board is going to tell you that the jersey star is better than any fender.
You're asking questions we cannot answer, man.
Let me try, and explain this to you the best I can.
For sake of argument, I have the Kramer LP Custom. Gibson/Epiphone owns Kramer right now, so basically you could say I have a Les Paul. I put Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates pickups in it. My LP Custom is a mahogony guitar, with a quilted maple top. The Pearly Gates pickups are a very very close replica of the pickups in Billy Gibbons's (ZZ TOP) '59 Les Paul. Now here's the part that may be hard for you to grasp, but every long time guitarist knows it to be truth.
Billy could pick up my guitar, play through my amp, and sound exactly like all the early ZZ Top albums. When I do it, I will not sound like I'm playing Billy Gibbons's guitar. Why? Your tone and your sound come from YOU. People who are going for a sound like their guitar heroes, are often banging themselves against a brick wall, untill they learn the way their idols play.
No, when you get your Jersey Star you won't suddenly sound just like Ritchie Sambora. The true test of whether a guitar is good, is not who can you sound like. Like Joe Pass once said, in a shaky letter while sick in bed.. "Does the guitar feel good in your hands? That's all that matters."
Every guitar I have, whether anyone else in the world thinks its good, has mojo and has a piece of my soul inside it. From my 120.00 dollar pawn shop Kramer to my 500.00 1984.
Hearing the Jersey Star on here, really won't tell you anything about it man, because if I played it it would only sound like my other guitars. It'll sound like me. If Jumbowolfe played it, it would sound like him. You have to hear it in your own hands, bro.
Don't be scared to just do it. If you hate it, you can get your money back here on this forum. Someone will buy it. But I guarantee you, you won't want to sell it.
Relax, buy the nice guitar, get some sleep.

That was so perfectly put, I doubt ANYONE could improve on it. I think with that, this thread is dead. Dan just reminded me why I spend most of my time diddling my own style and less time on tab like I use to.

I have a Jersey Star. It is a very nice guitar. With the 5 way switch and the coil tap switches this guitar can accomplish a wide variety of tones.
The only thing that might make it better is if it actually had a tone control knob. However just like the Baretta's that only have a volume knob, you can change the tone by backing off the volume and turning up the amp to compensate.
I don't really find the guitar lacking for much of anything. I play a wide variety of music and have found I can use my Jersey Star for anything I want to play. I bought this guitar for it to be one of my main players because it is not a vintage guitar and is not going to become more valuable persay. i bought it because i wanted a nice guitar that looked good and was versitile and that i can play the hell out of it without worrying about decreasing it's value. It is all that and I am very happy with the one I have. If they came out with a black one i would probably buy one of those as well.
I believe it is the best Kramer guitar Gibson/Epiphone in building at the present time.
Not only are they beautiful they sound and play great. Definately the top of the line and as good if not better than allot of the vintage models.
Definately modeled after the later 80's ESP style Kramer's.

Ok Daniel. I am going to try and record something with my JS this weekend for ya!
I can tell you it has some real nice sounds. As for strat sounds it gets about 50% in some applications but that is it. But the stat sounds it does get are truely unique.
Nice drive sound off the trem hum and all kinds of lead tones with the various switch positions.
